There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Rivas Ecopolis (11-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Perfumerias Avenida (9-2) 74-63. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Rivas Ecopolis. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American center Le'Coe Willingham (183-81, college: Auburn, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import swingman Monique Currie (183-83, college: Duke) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Perfumerias Avenida's coach Victor Antonio Lapena used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Queralt Casas (178-92) responded with 21 points and 6 steals. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having just three points less than leader Rivas Ecopolis. Rivas Ecopolis at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Perfumerias Avenida are looking forward to face Caja Rural (#4) in Zamora in the next round. Rivas Ecopolis will play on the road against Argon Uni Girona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Caja Rural (#4) was upset in Hondarribia by eighth ranked Hondarribia-Irun 75-70. American center Mandisa Stevenson (191-82, college: Auburn) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and Italee Lucas accounted for 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Finnish center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for Caja Rural in the defeat. Hondarribia-Irun (5-7) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Burgos and Gran Canaria. Newly promoted Caja Rural keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Cadi ICG S. and UNB Obenasa. Hondarribia-Irun will play against Conquero (#10) in Huelva in the next round. Caja Rural will play on the road against the league's second-placed Perfumerias Avenida (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
Eleventh-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (1-11) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Cadi ICG S. (6-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Seu D'urgell managed to secure only three-point victory 55-52. However their fans expected much easier game. Arhonda Covington fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Cristina Lopez produced 10 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cadi ICG S.. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Caja Rural and UNB Obenasa. Socinsa Bembibre lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Cadi ICG S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Socinsa Bembibre will play against Navarra Pamplona (#6).

An interesting game took place in Las Palmas where higher ranked Navarra Pamplona (6-6) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Gran Canaria (5-7) 61-53. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Navarra Pamplona. The hosts were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 22-12 run, which allowed them to win the game. Gran Canaria made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Gran Canaria outrebounded Navarra Pamplona 49-29 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Leticia Romero (176-95) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). International power forward Vanessa Ble (190-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (191-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international power forward Laura Herrera (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Navarra Pamplona. Caja Rural (#4) was upset in Hondarribia by eighth ranked Hondarribia-Irun 75-70. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Caja Rural won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Caja Rural 50-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. Among other achievements Molina-Prados' team won Spanish LF2 Group A Regular Season in 2015. She received also Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF2 1st Team award in 2015. ADB Araski Arabako Emakumeen Saskibaloia (LFB) landed 19-year old center Umo Diallo (192-98) from Campus Promete. But in 9 LFB games she averaged just 1.9ppg and 1.1rpg last season. Part of previous (2015-16) season Diallo spent at Sant Adria (LF2) where in 10 games she had 5.3ppg and 2.7rpg. She helped them to make it to the final. Campus Promete Logrono (LFB) re-signed 31-year old American power forward Leslie Knight (184-86). She has played there for the last three seasons.
