We bring you last week's top performances from Spaniards who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international power forward Pau Gasol (213-80, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Los Angeles Lakers (17-24) in their last game. Despite Gasol's very good performance the Los Angeles Lakers lost 103-108 on the road to the Toronto Raptors. He was the second best scorer with 25 points. Gasol also added 5 rebounds in 33 minutes on the court. It was Lakers' third consecutive loss in a row. It's Gasol's fifth season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Gasol averages: 12.7ppg, 8.3rpg, 3.7apg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 44.5%, 3FGP: 28.0% and FT: 75.8% in the 28 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Spanish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Marc Gasol (216-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). Gasol was the major contributor in a Memphis Grizzlies' victory against the Sacramento Kings (16-26) 85-69 in the NBA last Friday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds. Gasol also added 3 blocks (made all of his six free throws). The Memphis Grizzlies have a solid 26-14 record this season. Gasol is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Grizzlies' roster. This season he has very high stats. Gasol averages: 13.3ppg, 7.5rpg, 3.5apg, 1.8bpg, 2FGP: 48.6% and FT: 87.5%. He is in the roster of the Spanish senior national team.

   #3. The Spanish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Serge Ibaka (208-89, currently plays in NBA). Ibaka led Oklahoma City Thunder to a victory against the Los Angeles Clippers (32-11) 109-97 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. He scored 17 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Oklahoma City Thunder has a very good 33-9 record this season. This year Ibaka has very high stats. He averages: 14.1ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.8bpg, 2FGP: 57.2%(230-402), 3FGP: 34.8% and FT: 76.7%. Ibaka has a dual citizenship: Congolese and Spanish. Ex-C.B. L'Hospitalet player is also a member of the Spanish senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Jose Manuel Calderon (192-81, currently plays in NBA) faced previously mentioned Pau Gasol in the NBA last game. Calderon led Toronto Raptors to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers (17-24) 108-103. He was MVP of the game. Calderon scored 22 points and added 9 assists in 30 minutes. Calderon has been at the team for eight years. He has relatively good stats this season: 11.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 7.6apg in the 41 games. Calderon is also Spanish national team player.

Ortega belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #2 with 7.0apg. This year his other stats are: 14.1ppg, 3.6rpg and 2.0spg in the 19 games. Ortega used to play for the Spanish U18 national team four years ago.

Center Albert Miralles (208-82, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to secure a victory for ALBA Berlin (0-4) in their game against Panathinaikos (3-1) in the Euroleague. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Miralles recorded only 2 points. The eighth-placed ALBA Berlin was defeated 79-73 in Athens by the higher-ranked Panathinaikos (#4) in the group E of Euroleague. So far ALBA Berlin lost all four games in the Top 16. Miralles' overall stats this season are: 6.1ppg and 4.1rpg. He used to play for the Spanish national team back in 2005.

   #9. Former U17 international point guard Daniel Munoz (183-87, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the American (1-2) in their last game. Despite Munoz's good performance the American lost 57-63 at home to the Lehigh University. He recorded 13 points and added 7 assists in 36 minutes. Munoz plays fourth season for the team. This year Munoz's overall stats are: 6.1ppg and 4.1rpg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Spanish U17 national team ten years ago.

   #10. Point guard Salvador Camps (178-79, currently plays in Ireland) couldn't help Moycullen (4-9) in their game against B.Gais Neptune (10-5) in the Irish Superleague. Camps scored 5 points and added 6 passes in 13 minutes. Moycullen lost 74-89 in Cork to the higher-ranked (#3) B.Gais Neptune. It was Moycullen's third consecutive loss in a row. Camps is currently second on the list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (first place). This year his total stats are: 10.0ppg, 3.1rpg, 7.4apg and 2.8spg in the eight games. Camps is a former international player as twelve years ago he still played for the Spanish senior national team.

   #1. Tiago Splitter (211-C/F-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA) led San Antonio Spurs to a victory against the Golden State Warriors (25-15) 95-88 in the NBA on Friday night. Splitter recorded 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 36 minutes. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 33-11 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Splitter has relatively good stats this year: 10.0ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.3apg in the 44 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #2. Caio Silveira (211-C-87, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) was the major contributor in Flamengo's victory against the 11th-ranked Minas (7-8) 105-90 in the Brazilian NBB on Monday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 14 rebounds. Silveira also added 3 assists. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (6-0) is placed first in the NBB. So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season. This season Silveira has relatively solid stats: 12.4ppg and 6.4rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Spanish and Brazilian.

   #3. Experienced Luis Scola (206-F/C-80, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Phoenix Suns (13-28) in their last game. Despite Scola's very good performance the Phoenix Suns lost 94-98 at home to the Milwaukee Bucks. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Scola also added 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. It's Scola's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Scola averages: 13.1ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.4apg in the 41 games. He has both Argentinian and Spanish nationalities.

   #4. Arnette Hallman (199-F-88, currently plays in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese LPB was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Academica (8-4) in their last game. Despite Hallman's very good performance Academica was edged 66-63 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Ovarense. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds. Hallman also added 3 assists and 4 steals in 40 minutes. Hallman is currently first on the league's list of best rebounders with 12.5rpg. This year his other stats are: 15.5ppg, 2.8apg and 1.8spg in the 12 games. Hallman is a naturalized American. He used to play for Estudiantes de Lugo in Spanish league.

   #5. Aigars Skele (192-F-92, currently plays in Latvia) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Turiba (5-14) crushing them 98-68 in the Latvian LBL in Thursday night's game. Skele recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. BK Barons Kvartals Riga (12-7) is placed first in the LBL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Skele's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 5.8ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.7apg.

   #6. Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85, currently plays in Uruguay), who plays in the Uruguayan LUB was not able to secure a victory for Hebraica (0-2) in their last game. Despite Barrera's good performance the eighth-placed Hebraica lost 71-82 in a derby game to the higher-ranked (#3) Union Atletica in the Serie 1. He recorded 10 points, 9 assists and 4 steals in 38 minutes. Barrera is ranked first on the list of the best passers in the league and also on the list of most steals (third place). He has very reliable stats this year: 13.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 7.3apg and 2.0spg in the 31 games. Barrera also holds two passports: Spanish and Uruguayan.

   #7. Omar Quintero (183-PG-81, college: S.Nazarene, currently plays in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican LNBP (second division) couldn't help Huracanes (22-18) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Huracanes was defeated 88-80 in Guanajuato by the lower-ranked Abejas (#9). Quintero was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 4 rebounds (made all of his six free throws). This season Quintero has relatively solid stats: 13.7ppg, 3.9rpg and 4.4apg. He has Spanish and Mexican nationalities.

   #8. Jose Manuel Coego (204-C/F-78, currently plays in Portugal) led CAB Madeira to a victory over the eighth-ranked Lusitania crushing them 90-64 in the Portuguese LPB in Friday night's game. Coego was the best player in that game. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. This year Coego has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg and 5.0rpg in the 12 games.

   #9. Jorge Calvo (190-G-87, currently plays in United Kingdom) managed to help Jelson Homes DMU Leicester City Riders to win against the closely-ranked Surrey Heat crushing them 88-58 in the British BBL last Sunday. He scored 5 points, grabbed 4 boards, dished 12 assists and stole 6 balls. Calvo's overall stats this season are: 4.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.6spg.

   #10. Juan Ignacio Sanchez (192-G-77, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to Wuber-Est.Bahia's victory against the seventh-ranked Boca Juniors 75-61 in the Argentinian LigaA on Wednesday night. He scored 13 points and added 6 assists in 21 minutes. This year Sanchez's overall stats are: 5.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.8apg in the six games. He has Spanish and Argentinian nationalities.

Sant Josep Girona agreed terms with 25-year old American forward Faronte Drakeford (201-98kg-92, college: Central Connecticut State). He played most recently at Isover Basket Azuqueca in the EBA. In 21 games he had very impressive stats: 19.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.5spg in 2015-16 season. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish EBA Honorable Mention. FC Barcelona Lassa (Liga Endesa) agreed terms with 28-year old Hungarian international small forward Adam Hanga (199-90kg-89, agency: Octagon Europe). It is actually his comeback to FC Barcelona as he has played here before. Hanga He moved there from Baskonia in Spanish Liga Endesa where he played this season. Hanga also played earlier that season for FC Barcelona.
