The most exciting game of round 14 in the LFB took place in Girona. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Argon Uni Girona (8-4) to first ranked Rivas Ecopolis (12-1) 63-61 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American center Aneika Henry (193-86, college: Florida) who scored 7 points and 14 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Olexandra Kurasova (186-86) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Jacinta Monroe (193-88, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Rivas Ecopolis maintains first position with 12-1 record. Argon Uni Girona at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Rivas Ecopolis are looking forward to face Cadi ICG S. (#5) in Seu D'urgell in the next round. Argon Uni Girona will play on the road against Caja Rural in Zamora and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Burgos. Seventh ranked Jopisa Burgos (6-7) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Gran Canaria (5-8) 76-74 on Saturday evening. American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. Berta Chumillas contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese center Astou Ndour (196-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds for Gran Canaria. Jopisa Burgos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caja Rural. Gran Canaria at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Hondar.-Irun. Jopisa Burgos will play against bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Gran Canaria will play against Conquero in Huelva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Perfumerias Avenida will meet Hondarribia-Irun (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Caja Rural will play against Argon Uni Girona and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Huelva. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Hondarribia-Irun (5-8) to tenth ranked Conquero (4-9) 81-80 on Friday evening. Bernice Mosby notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort. Newly promoted Conquero maintains tenth position with 4-9 record. Hondarribia-Irun at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Conquero's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gran Canaria (#9) in Las Palmas and it may be quite challenging game.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Salamanca. Second ranked Perfumerias Avenida faced 4th ranked Caja Rural. Host Perfumerias Avenida (10-2) smashed guests from Zamora (6-7) 76-53. The game without a history. Perfumerias Avenida led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Caja Rural's 32. They outrebounded Caja Rural 47-31 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Monique Currie (183-83, college: Duke) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Marta Fernandez (178-81) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in LFB, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games. Aros Patatas Hijolusa Leon (LF2) signed 23-year old Dominican center Yamile Rodriguez (193-94). She just graduated from East Tennessee State University (NCAA). But in 22 games she had only 1.7ppg and 2.8rpg last season. As mentioned above Rodriguez is just out of the college and it will be her first season as a pro.
