Latvian Aija Putnina (191-F/C-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had a great game in the last round for UNB Obenasa and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. The 24-year old power forward had a double-double of 22 points and ten rebounds, while her team outclassed Bembibre (#11, 1-12) with 27-point margin 66-39. UNB Obenasa is placed at 4th position in Spanish LFB. UNB Obenasa is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-6 record. In the team's last game Putnina had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. She turned to be UNB Obenasa's top player in her first season with the team. Putnina has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 17.2ppg) and rebounds (2nd best: 8.8rpg).
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Senegalese center Astou Ndour (196-C-94) of Gran Canaria. Ndour impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Gran Canaria was edged by slightly higher-ranked Burgos (#7, 6-7) 76-74. This loss caused Gran Canaria to drop to 9th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Ndour is one of the most experienced players at Gran Canaria and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.9ppg (#7). She also registered 8.5 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was American Bernice Mosby (186-F-84) of Conquero (#10). Mosby scored 20 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Conquero, leading her team to a 81-80 win against slightly higher-ranked Hondar.-Irun (#8, 5-8). The chances of Conquero not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mosby could try to bring Conquero's a little bit higher in the standings. Mosby has individually a great season in Spain. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.3ppg (5th best).

Tintos de Toro Caja Rural Zamora (LFB) landed 22-year old Latvian ex-international forward Linda Rubene (190-91). She just graduated from Indiana (NCAA). The last season Rubene also at Indiana University in Big Ten Conference in the NCAA. But in 24 games she averaged only 1.7ppg and 1.3rpg. As mentioned above she is just out of the college and it is her first season in pro basketball. Rubene was also a member of Latvian international program for some years. She played for Latvian Senior National Team in 2010 and previously for U18 National Team in 2009. Rubene represented Latvia at the European Championships U20 in Liepaja (Latvia) three years ago. Her team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 9 games: 0.9ppg. Rubene has played previously for 47.vsk and SK Riga.
