Regal FC Barcelona (11-8) outlasted Gescrap BB (12-7) in overtime by two points 87-85 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gescrap BB. It was a great evening for Nathan Jawai who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 11-8 record, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Gescrap BB at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will face Assignia Manresa (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gescrap BB will play against the league's leader Real Madrid (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 19: Unicaja lost to FIATC Joventut on the opponent's court 71-79. Asefa Estudian. managed to outperform Lagun Aro GBC in a home game 79-77. CB Canarias recorded a loss to CAI Zaragoza on the road 81-67. G.Canaria 2014 was defeated by Assignia M. on its own court 65-75. Blancos de R. was beaten by Real Madrid in a road game 87-75. Cajasol lost to Caja Laboral at home 82-86. UCAM Murcia managed to outperform Valencia on the opponent's court 96-94. Blusens M. recorded a loss to Mad-Croc in a home game 73-79.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 31 points and 5 rebounds by Carl English of Asefa Estudian..


FIATC Joventut - Unicaja 79-71

Rather expected game in Badalona where 11th ranked Unicaja Malaga (8-11) was defeated by eighth ranked FIATC Joventut (10-9) 79-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-71. FIATC Joventut made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Unicaja Malaga turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Tony Gaffney (204-84, college: Massachusetts) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. There was a surprise result in Santoago de Comp where sixteenth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (6-13) defeated higher ranked Blusens Monbus (9-10) 79-73 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-22. But Blusens Monbus won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Baloncesto Fuenlabrada won last quarter 19-15. Strangely Blusens Monbus outrebounded Baloncesto Fuenlabrada 36-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Robert Kurz (206-85, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Latvian guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. Four Baloncesto Fuenlabrada players scored in double figures. At the losing side Tunisian center Salah Mejri (217-86) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian-Irish forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada maintains sixteenth place with 6-13 record. Blusens Monbus lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will face higher ranked G.Canaria 2014 (#5) in Las Palmas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
