Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Spaniards who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Marc Gasol (216-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). He led Memphis Grizzlies to a 3-point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (18-26) 103-100 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Gasol was MVP of the game. He scored 27 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds, passed 7 assists and added 2 blocks in 43 minutes on the court. The Memphis Grizzlies have a solid 29-15 record this season. It's Gasol's fifth year with the team. Gasol has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.7ppg, 7.5rpg, 3.6apg, 1.8bpg, 2FGP: 49.4%, 3FGP: 12.5% and FT: 87.7% in the 44 games he played so far. Gasol is currently a member of the Spanish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Serge Ibaka (208-89, currently plays in NBA). Ibaka led Oklahoma City Thunder to a victory against the Los Angeles Clippers (33-13) 109-97 in the NBA on Tuesday night. He scored 17 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 39 minutes. The Oklahoma City Thunder has a very good 34-11 record this season. Ibaka has very impressive stats this year: 13.9ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.8bpg, 2FGP: 57.0%(244-428), 3FGP: 32.0% and FT: 75.7% in the 43 games. He has a dual citizenship: Congolese and Spanish. Ex-C.B. L'Hospitalet player is in the roster of the Spanish senior national team.

   #3. The Spanish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Ricky Rubio (192-90, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-24) in their last game. Despite Rubio's good performance the Minnesota Timberwolves were edged 102-101 on the road by the Charlotte Bobcats. He scored 14 points, made 8 passes and 5 steals in 29 minutes. It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Rubio's overall stats are: 4.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 5.3apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 30.5%, 3FGP: 6.7% and FT: 79.2% in the 16 games. He played for the Spanish national team two years ago.

An experienced power forward Pau Gasol (213-80, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Los Angeles Lakers' victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder (34-11) 105-96 in the NBA on Sunday night. Gasol recorded 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. The Los Angeles Lakers have 20-25 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Gasol is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Lakers' roster. This season he has very high stats. Gasol averages: 12.7ppg, 8.0rpg, 3.7apg and 1.3bpg. He is also Spanish national team player.

   #5. International point guard Jose Manuel Calderon (192-81, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Toronto Raptors (16-29) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Toronto Raptors were defeated in an overtime 123-116 in Miami by the Heat. Calderon was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 3 passes. Calderon has been at the team for eight years. This season Calderon has very high stats. He averages: 11.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 7.4apg. Calderon plays currently for the Spanish national team.

Center Albert Miralles (208-82, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Germany) helped ALBA Berlin win their game against the league outsider LTi 46ers (4-15) 83-69 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Miralles scored 13 points. ALBA Berlin (12-5) is placed third in the BBL. It's Miralles' first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 6.5ppg and 3.3rpg. Miralles is a former international player as he played for the Spanish senior team eight years ago.

Former U17 international point guard Daniel Munoz (183-87, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the American (2-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance the American lost 64-77 in West Point, NY to the U.S.Military Academy. Munoz scored 13 points in 35 minutes. Munoz plays fourth season for the team. He has very impressive stats this year: 20.5ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3apg and 2.0spg in the four games. Munoz used to play for the Spanish U17 national team ten years ago.

   #8. Point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91, currently plays in Denmark) helped Randers win their game against the league leader SISU (15-0) 95-88 in the Danish Ligaen on Saturday night. He scored 7 points, made 10 passes and 3 steals in 32 minutes. Randers Cimbria Basketball (10-11) is placed sixth in the Ligaen. Ortega is currently first on the list of best passers with 7.4apg. This year his other stats are: 13.3ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.0spg in the 21 games. Ortega used to play for the Spanish U18 national team back in 2009.


The list of other players, who all have Spanish passport but never been selected to any of Spanish national teams:

   #1. Tiago Splitter (211-C/F-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA) led San Antonio Spurs to a victory over the New Orleans Hornets (15-30) 106-102 in the NBA last Wednesday. He was the best player in that game. Splitter scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs have quite an impressive 36-11 record this season. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Splitter has relatively good stats this season: 10.4ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.3apg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #2. Experienced Luis Scola (206-F/C-80, currently plays in NBA) was the main contributor in a Phoenix Suns' victory against the Sacramento Kings (17-29) 106-96 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Scola was the best player in that game. He scored 21 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists. The Phoenix Suns have rather weak 15-30 record this season. It's Scola's first year with the team. Scola has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.2ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.5apg. Scola is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Spanish.

   #3. Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85, currently plays in Uruguay) contributed to Hebraica's victory against the third-ranked Bohemios (2-1) 92-84 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB in Saturday night's game. Barrera was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 31 points and making 12 passes. Barrera also added and 3 steals in 38 minutes. Hebraica Macabi (1-2) is placed eighth in Serie 1. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Barrera is currently first on the league's list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (third place). He has very reliable stats this year: 13.8ppg, 3.9rpg, 7.5apg and 2.0spg in the 32 games he played so far. Barrera has both Spanish and Uruguayan nationalities.

   #4. Caio Silveira (211-C-87, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Pinheiros (11-6) 102-85 in the Brazilian NBB on Saturday night. He scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 24 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (6-0) is placed first in the NBB. So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season. Silveira has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg and 6.6rpg in the 17 games. He also holds two passports: Spanish and Brazilian.

   #5. Aigars Skele (192-F-92, currently plays in Baltic League) contributed to a Barons kvartals' victory against the third-ranked Lietkabelis (1-2) 74-67 in the Baltic League last Friday. He recorded 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 28 minutes. BK Barons Kvartals Riga (3-0) is placed first in group E. So far his team won all three games in the Top 16. There are only three games left until the end of the Baltic League Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. This year Skele's total stats are: 2.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.6apg in the 13 games.

   #6. Carlos Fernandez (197-F-87, college: IlIinois Tech, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL could not help Worcester Wolves (10-9) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance Worcester Wolves was defeated 97-91 on the road by the higher-ranked Surrey Heat (#3). Fernandez was the second best scorer with 18 points. He also added 4 rebounds. Fernandez's total stats this season are: 5.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg.

   #7. Devin Davis (202-F-74, college: Miami, OH, currently plays in Argentina), who plays in the Argentinian LigaA was not able to help Wuber-Est.Bahia (12-17) in their last game. Despite his good performance Wuber-Est.Bahia was edged 91-88 in Santiado Estero by the higher-ranked (#7) Quimsa. Davis scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 31 minutes. This year Davis' total stats are: 9.3ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.5apg in the four games. He is a naturalized American. Davis used to play for 13.6ppg, Reb-1(9.8), 2apg, in April '98 signed with Huelva in Spanish league.

   #8. Ariel Eslava (201-F/C-79, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Olimpico de La Banda in their game against Regatas Corrientes in the Argentinian LigaA. Despite his good performance last Sunday He was the top scorer with 10 points. Eslava also added 6 rebounds. Eslava's total stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 3.9rpg. He holds both Spanish and Argentinian passports.

   #9. Ontario Lett (198-F-79, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Iran) couldn't help Naft Sepahan in their game against Mahram in the Iranian Superleague, despite his very good performance on Monday night. Lett was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 28 minutes. But his team lost 68-81. Lett is ranked first on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (second place). He has very impressive stats this year: 20.5ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3apg and 2.0spg in the four games. Lett is a naturalized American. He used to play for Calpe Aguas in Spanish league.

   #10. Marco Porcher (193-G-92, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped FIU win their game against the University Louisiana at Lafayette 80-75 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Porcher scored 13 points and added 3 assists. This season he has very high stats. Porcher averages: 20.5ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3apg and 2.0spg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Porcher has never played in Spain.

In 30 games he had 14.4ppg, 9.5rpg and 1.5apg last season. A very impressive year as he was voted All-AMC Newcomer of the Year and named to All-AMC 2nd Team. Sammic Iraurgi Saski Baloia (LEB Gold) signed 22-year old Serbian power forward Andrija Simovic (203-95) from Magia Huesca. In 31 LEB Gold games in Spain he had 7.3ppg and 3.9rpg last season. The previous (15-16) season Simovic played at KK Vrsac Swisslion in Serbian KLS where in 25 games he recorded 13.0ppg, 7.4rpg (#5 in the league) and 1.5apg. Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo (LEB Gold) landed 20-year old Congolese forward Judicael Belemene (205-97). He is not a newcomer in Spanish League as he played most recently at ICL Manresa in Liga Endesa. However his team was relegated to LEB Gold.
