There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked CB Guadalajara (10-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Prat Juventud (9-6) 75-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CB Guadalajara. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But CB Guadalajara won second period 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prat Juventud made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Gerbert Marti (203-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and guard Ferran Bassas (185-92) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Prat Juventud's coach Carles Duran used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Jose Balmon (204-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Prat Juventud moved-up to third place, which they share with Clinicas Rincon. Newly promoted CB Guadalajara still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Oviedo CB. Prat Juventud is looking forward to face Cafes Aitona (#9) in San Sebastian in the next round where they are favorite. CB Guadalajara will play on the road against Palma (#8) in S'Arenal and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Oviedo CB (10-4) against sixth ranked Lan Mobel ISB (8-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Oviedo CB was defeated by Lan Mobel ISB in a tough game in Azpeitia 80-84. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Oviedo CB. The winners were led by American forward Lance Kearse (198, college: Eckerd) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Guillermo Justo supported him with 22 points. Even a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) by American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (200-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for Oviedo CB. Oviedo CB's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Lan Mobel ISB moved-up to fifth place. Oviedo CB at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Guadalajara. Lan Mobel ISB will play against higher ranked Clinicas Rincon (#4) in Malaga in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Oviedo CB will play at home against Castello in Castellon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Clinicas Rincon (9-6) against sixth ranked Aurteneche M. (8-7) on Friday night. Visiting Clinicas Rincon was defeated by Aurteneche M. in a tough game in Vitoria-Gasteiz 75-83. Ander Arruti fired 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Malick Fall produced 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aurteneche M. maintains sixth position with 8-7 record. Loser Clinicas Rincon keeps the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Prat Juventud. Aurteneche M. will meet Fontedoso Carrefour (#7) in the next round. Clinicas Rincon will play against Lan Mobel ISB (#5) in Azpeitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked La Palma managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked Fontedoso Carrefour 62-45. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference suggests that La Palma is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It was a very good performance for Samuel Dominguez who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. La Palma's coach Pablo Melo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. La Palma maintains eleventh position with 4-11 record. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. La Palma will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Castellon. Ninth ranked Palma (6-9) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Castello (5-9) 85-84 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Robert Joseph who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Palma's coach Matias Cerda used entire bench in such tough game. Palma moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Avila. Castello at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Palma will face league's leader CB Guadalajara at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Castello will play against the league's second-placed Oviedo CB (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
