The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Cortegada (11-2) on the court of seventh ranked Real Celta Vigo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Real Celta Vigo 58-45. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 35-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Real Celta Vigo dominated on the defensive end, holding Cortegada to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. Real Celta Vigo forced 20 Cortegada turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Marina Delgado (174-92) who led her team to a victory with 17 points. Senegalese forward Sabelle Diata (186, college: Northeastern JC) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Real Celta Vigo's coach Carlos Colinas used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) answered with 9 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for Cortegada. Real Celta Vigo (6-8) moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Oviedo and Ourense P. Cortegada at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Real Celta Vigo is looking forward to face league's second-placed Universitario de Ferrol on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cortegada will play against Maquinaria Ensino in Lugo and is hoping to win this game.
Sixth-ranked Pabellon Ourense (6-8) was very close to win a game against second ranked Universitario de Ferrol (11-3). Universitario de Ferrol managed to secure only one-point victory 57-56. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pabellon Ourense. It was a great evening for American forward Kate Mills (185-86, college: Massachusetts) who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. Olivia Lett helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Universitario de Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. Universitario de Ferrol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group A with 11-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Cortegada. Pabellon Ourense at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Real C.Vigo and Oviedo. Universitario de Ferrol will play against Real Celta Vigo (#6) at home in the next round. Pabellon Ourense will play against Oviedo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Zaragoza between Casablanca and Orion-GDKO. Second ranked Casablanca (12-3) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Orion-GDKO (9-6). Casablanca managed to escape with a 3-point win 59-56 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Paula Palomares who led the winners and scored 18 points and 4 assists. Casablanca's coach Alex Cebrian allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Cecilia Lineira came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds for Orion-GDKO in the defeat. Casablanca have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group B with 12-3 record having just -3 point less than leader Cortegada. Loser Orion-GDKO dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Casablanca will meet Leganes (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orion-GDKO will play against Las Gaunas (#8) in Logrono and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game for Al-Qazeres (10-3) which hosted in Caceres 4th placed Maquinaria Ensino (8-5). Third ranked Al-Qazeres had an easy win 86-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maquinaria Ensino. The best player for the winners was Carla Nascimento who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Al-Qazeres' coach Jacinto Carbajal allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Al-Qazeres. Newly promoted Al-Qazeres maintains third place in Group A with 10-3 record behind leader Cortegada. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Al-Qazeres' next round opponent will be ADBA (#9) in Aviles which should be theoretically an easy game. Maquinaria Ensino will play at home against the league's leader Cortegada (#1) in Vilagarcia Arousa.
An interesting game for Pais Vasco (13-2) which played road game in Madrid against 3rd placed Real Canoe (10-5). First ranked Pais Vasco had an easy win 59-39. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Real Canoe. It was a good game for Stephanie Madden who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Real Canoe's coach Pablo Roldan rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Pais Vasco. They maintain first place in Group B with 13-2 record. Loser Real Canoe keeps the third position with five games lost. Pais Vasco will face Tenerife (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Real Canoe will play against Las Rozas (#12).

There were no big surprises in other games of round 15:
In Group A Aros Leon beat Arxil Pontev. on the road 61-58. Oviedo won against Valladolid on its own court 59-45.
In Group B Gernika unfortunately lost to Alcobendas in a road game 65-79. Segle XXI managed to beat Las Rozas at home 46-33. Leganes was defeated by Tenerife on the opponent's court 68-71. Asefa Estud. beat Las Gaunas in a home game 80-67.
The most impressive performance of 15th round was 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Leslie Knight of Alcobendas.

Group A
Ferrol - Ourense P. 57-56

Sixth-ranked Pabellon Ourense (6-8) was very close to win a game against second ranked Universitario de Ferrol (11-3). Universitario de Ferrol managed to secure only one-point victory 57-56. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pabellon Ourense. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pabellon Ourense won third quarter 13-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Pabellon Ourense outrebounded Universitario de Ferrol 48-33 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Kate Mills (185-86, college: Massachusetts) who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Olivia Lett (182-90, college: Illinois Wesleyan) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Universitario de Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists and center Nuria Ramiro (192-79) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Universitario de Ferrol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group A with 11-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Cortegada. Pabellon Ourense at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Real C.Vigo and Oviedo. No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Aros Leon (9-5) edged on the road bottom-ranked Arxil Pontevedra (0-14) 61-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 18-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for point guard Natalia Lopez (171-93) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Center Sandra Martinez (188-93) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Canadian center Zara Huntley (188-89) answered with 9 points and 10 rebounds and Russian center Olga Fedorova (189-78) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Arxil Pontevedra. Arxil Pontevedra's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aros Leon moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Arxil Pontevedra lost their fourteenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Aros Leon will have a break next round. Arxil Pontevedra will play on the road against Universidad de Valladolid (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

An interesting game for Al-Qazeres (10-3) which hosted in Caceres 4th placed Maquinaria Ensino (8-5). Third ranked Al-Qazeres had an easy win 86-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maquinaria Ensino. It looked good early as Maquinaria Ensino took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Al-Qazeres took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 16 points. The best player for the winners was Portuguese guard Carla Nascimento (171-86) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American Ndidi Madu (185, college: Florida) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Al-Qazeres' coach Jacinto Carbajal allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Yaiza Garcia (190-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five Al-Qazeres and four Maquinaria Ensino players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Al-Qazeres. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Oviedo will face Pabellon Ourense (#8) on the road in the next round. Universidad de Valladolid will play against Arxil Pontevedra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Alcobendas - Gernika 79-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Fundal Alcobendas' (10-5) home victory over 6th ranked Gernika (7-8) 79-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Fundal Alcobendas. Gernika was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gernika 39-26 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fundal Alcobendas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Gernika's players. It was a good game for American forward Leslie Knight (184-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Laura Jornet (181-85) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. point guard Izaskun Garcia (168-92) answered with 13 points and 5 assists and power forward Yaiza Lazaro (186-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Gernika. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fundal Alcobendas moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Real Canoe. Loser Gernika keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Fundal Alcobendas will face ASEFA Estudiantes (#7) in Madrid in the next round. Gernika will play at home against Segle XXI in Barcelona.

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Las Rozas (2-13) lost to ninth ranked Segle XXI (5-10) in Barcelona 33-46 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Segle XXI. Las Rozas was better in second period 10-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Las Rozas to just 7 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. Segle XXI held Las Rozas to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Segle XXI forced 23 Las Rozas turnovers. It was a good game for Belen Arrojo (-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Real Canoe to just 7 points in third quarter. Pais Vasco shot 20 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Real Canoe only scored two points from the stripe. Real Canoe was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Stephanie Madden (185-88, college: Langston) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. A very close game took place in Zaragoza between Casablanca and Orion-GDKO. Second ranked Casablanca (12-3) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Orion-GDKO (9-6). Casablanca managed to escape with a 3-point win 59-56 on Saturday evening. Orion-GDKO was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 13-9 charge of Casablanca, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 30 Orion-GDKO turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Paula Palomares (170-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 4 assists. Center Marta Garcia (193-86) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Casablanca's coach Alex Cebrian allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Argentinian-Czech guard Cecilia Lineira (180-86) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Orion-GDKO in the defeat. Casablanca have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group B with 12-3 record having just -3 point less than leader Cortegada. Loser Orion-GDKO dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Casablanca will meet Leganes (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
