There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most interesting game of round 16 was a home defeat of 8th ranked Pabellon Ourense (6-9) to seventh ranked Oviedo (7-8) 51-45 in the game for the sixth place. Pabellon Ourense was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Oviedo had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Carolina Hernando (-85) who helped to win the game recording 4 points and 12 rebounds and Miriam Diaz Requejo (-87) who added 7 points during the contest. Oviedo's coach Ruben Alonso used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Oviedo moved-up to sixth place in Group A. Pabellon Ourense at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Real C.Vigo. Oviedo are looking forward to face league's second-placed Universitario de Ferrol at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pabellon Ourense will play against Arxil Pontevedra (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Lugo. First ranked Cortegada (12-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Maquinaria Ensino (8-6) 52-50 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Montserrat Gilabert supported her with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) by the former international forward Mireia Navarrete (184-80) did not help to save the game for Maquinaria Ensino. Maquinaria Ensino's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cortegada maintains first position in Group A with 12-2 record. Maquinaria Ensino at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Cortegada will play against ADBA (#10) in Aviles in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
