CB Guadalajara (#2) forced the game against Oviedo CB (#1) into an overtime, but lost by seven points 91-98 on Saturday night. The game took place in Guadalajara. But the guests from Oviedo were better at the end. It was a good game for Will Hanley who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Oviedo CB's coach Guillermo Arenas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Oviedo CB maintains first position with 12-4 record. CB Guadalajara lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the third place with six games lost. Oviedo CB will face Cafes Aitona (#10) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Guadalajara will play on the road against Lan Mobel ISB (#6) in Azpeitia.

The most impressive performance of 18th round was 16 points and 14 rebounds by Victor Hidalgo of Castello.


Castello - Lan Mobel ISB 91-90 OT

J.Maria Garcia scored 19 points and issued 8 assists to pace Castello past Lan Mobel ISB in overtime. The victory propelled the hosts at 6-10 record in the ladder. D.Ortega added 18 points and 11 boards for the home team. L.Kearse responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the visitors. Juston had 21 points in the losing effort.

They were eventually defeated in overtime 14-21s. Oviedo CB made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Oviedo CB looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by CB Guadalajara's players. It was a good game for American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (200-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Diego Sanchez (198-78) contributed with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Oviedo CB's coach Guillermo Arenas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. They made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Cafes Aitona was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Jason Blair (201-79, college: San Diego, agency: SDJ Sports) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Ivan Matemalas (193-80) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Palma players scored in double figures. Forward Xabier Perez (198-91) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Jon Santamaria (191-82) added 12 points in the effort for Cafes Aitona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Palma have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Palma maintains seventh position with 8-9 record. Cafes Aitona lost third consecutive game. Cafes Aitona at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. Palma will face bottom-ranked La Palma (#11) at home in the next round. Cafes Aitona will play against the league's leader Oviedo CB where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Prat Juventud led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for swingman Guillem Vives (190-93) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Gerbert Marti (203-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Prat Juventud players scored in double figures. point guard Fabio Santana (188-92, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 15 points and forward Anaterve Cruz (196-86) added 14 points in the effort for La Palma. Prat Juventud have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. La Palma at the other side stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Prat Juventud will face Aurteneche M.
