The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The most important game in the last round took place in Seu D'urgell between third ranked Argon Uni Girona (11-5) and fifth ranked Cadi ICG S. (8-8) on Saturday night. Argon Uni Girona was crushed by Cadi ICG S. on the road 52-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Argon Uni Girona. The game was mostly controlled by Cadi ICG S.. Argon Uni Girona managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Argon Uni Girona 36-21 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) replied with 12 points for Argon Uni Girona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cadi ICG S. maintains fifth position with 8-8 record. Argon Uni Girona at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Cadi ICG S. are looking forward to face Hondarribia-Irun (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Argon Uni Girona will play against Navarra Pamplona (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Newly promoted Socinsa Bembibre maintains eleventh position with 4-13 record. Hondarribia-Irun lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. Socinsa Bembibre will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hondarribia-Irun will play at home against Cadi ICG S. (#5) in Seu D'urgell and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last game of round 18 Caja Rural was beaten by Burgos on the road 71-54.

Bottom-ranked Socinsa Bembibre managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted Socinsa Bembibre won against tenth-ranked Hondarribia-Irun 66-56. It looked good early as Hondarribia-Irun took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Socinsa Bembibre had a 17-13 second period charge getting the lead and Hondarribia-Irun was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-66. They outrebounded Hondarribia-Irun 38-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. American center LaNedra Brown (188-81, college: Seton Hall) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Roso Buch (179-92) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists during the contest. The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Jopisa Burgos' (7-9) home victory over 8th ranked Caja Rural (6-11) 71-54. The game was mostly controlled by Jopisa Burgos. Caja Rural was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jopisa Burgos made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Caja Rural turnovers. American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Berta Chumillas (173-90) chipped in 15 points and 7 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was Greek swingman Olga Chatzinikolaou (181-81) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Finnish center Taru Tuukkanen (190-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Caja Rural's coach Juan De Mena rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Jopisa Burgos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Gran Canaria. Caja Rural lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Jopisa Burgos will play against league's second-placed Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Caja Rural will play at home against Conquero (#9) in Huelva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
