19-year old center Amy Syll (195-C-93) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Cortegada and receives a Eurobasket.com LF2 Player of the Week award for round 18. She had a double-double of 20 points and 19 rebounds, while her team beat Aros Leon (#4, 9-7) in overtime 76-69. It allowed Cortegada to consolidate first place in the Spanish league. Cortegada have a solid 13-3 record. It's Syll's second year at Cortegada and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Amy Syll averages this season 9.5ppg and 8.7rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Cecilia Lineira (180-G-86) of Orion-GDKO. She is Argentinian-Czech Republic guard in her first season at Orion-GDKO. In the last game Lineira recorded impressive double-double of 13 points and 21 rebounds. Of course she lead Orion-GDKO to another comfortable win 77-60 over the lower-ranked Leganes (#10, 6-12) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Orion-GDKO to move up to 4th position in Group B. Her team's 11-7 record is not bad at all. Lineira is a newcomer at Orion-GDKO and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to center Olga Fedorova (189-C-78) of Arxil Pontev. (#11). Fedorova scored 24 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Fedorova's great performance Arxil Pontev. lost 61-78 to the higher-ranked Ferrol (#3, 13-4). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Arxil Pontev. can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have rather bad season and 1-16 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Fedorova she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Fedorova has a very solid season. In 16 games in Spain she scored 15.7ppg.

Tintos de Toro Caja Rural Zamora (LFB) landed 22-year old Latvian ex-international forward Linda Rubene (190-91). She just graduated from Indiana (NCAA). The last season Rubene also at Indiana University in Big Ten Conference in the NCAA. But in 24 games she averaged only 1.7ppg and 1.3rpg. As mentioned above she is just out of the college and it is her first season in pro basketball. Rubene was also a member of Latvian international program for some years. She played for Latvian Senior National Team in 2010 and previously for U18 National Team in 2009. Rubene represented Latvia at the European Championships U20 in Liepaja (Latvia) three years ago. Her team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 9 games: 0.9ppg. Rubene has played previously for 47.vsk and SK Riga.
