Marc Blanch
The Regular Season in LEB Gold is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Palencia. First ranked River Andorra faced 4th placed Palencia Baloncesto. Guests from Andorra (19-2) defeated host Palencia Baloncesto (13-8) 82-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Palencia Baloncesto. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 40-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was forward Marc Blanch (194-82) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) chipped in 9 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. River Andorra have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Newly promoted River Andorra maintains first place with 19-2 record. Palencia Baloncesto at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. River Andorra is looking forward to face Caceres Basket (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palencia Baloncesto will play against the league's second-placed Ford Burgos (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Ourense, where higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-10) lost to thirteenth ranked Ourense (8-13) in a road game 66-74. It was a good game for Nigerian forward Andy Ogide (204-87, college: Colorado St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Ashton Gibbs contributed with 16 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American guard Anthony Winchester (193-83, college: W.Kentucky) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds for Leche Rio Breogan. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ourense moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Coruna and Planasa NV. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Ourense will play against higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leche Rio Breogan will play against Leyma Basquet in Coruna and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game took place in Coruna, where higher ranked Lobe Huesca (9-12) lost to thirteenth ranked Leyma Basquet (8-13) in a road game 62-70 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lobe Huesca. Xavier Lopez stepped up and scored 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. The best for the losing side was Eduard Gatell with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Ourense and Planasa NV. Loser Lobe Huesca keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Leyma Basquet will meet higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lobe Huesca will play against Planasa NV in Pamplona and hope to secure a win.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Pamplona. Local Planasa NV (8-13) was outscored by second ranked Ford Burgos (17-4) 87-55. Josep Ortega nailed 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ford Burgos maintains second place with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader Andorra. Planasa NV lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Ford Burgos' next round opponent will be Palencia Baloncesto (#4) at home. Planasa NV will play against Lobe Huesca (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 21 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Lucentum defeated Melilla in Alicante 84-66. Caceres beat FCB Regal II at home 85-71. Clavijo was destroyed by Forca Lleida on the opponent's court 90-71.
