   #1. This week's number one is an international center Marc Gasol (216-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). He led Memphis Grizzlies to a victory over the Portland Trail Blazers (29-34) 91-85 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Gasol was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. Gasol also added 3 assists in 41 minutes on the court. The Memphis Grizzlies have a solid 43-19 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Gasol's fifth year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Gasol averages: 14.2ppg, 7.8rpg, 3.9apg, 1.7bpg, 2FGP: 49.9%, 3FGP: 8.3% and FT: 86.1% in the 62 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Spanish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard Ricky Rubio (192-90, currently plays in NBA). Rubio was the main contributor in a Minnesota Timberwolves' victory against the San Antonio Spurs (49-16) crushing them 107-83 in the NBA on Tuesday night. He was the best player in that game. Rubio had a triple-double by scoring 21 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and passing 12 assists in 35 minutes. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 22-39 record this season. Rubio has relatively good stats this year: 9.2ppg, 3.8rpg, 7.3apg, 2.3spg, 2FGP: 38.5%, 3FGP: 17.8% and FT: 76.4% in the 36 games. He played for the Spanish national team in 2011.

   #3. The Spanish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Serge Ibaka (208-89, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Ibaka could not help the Oklahoma City Thunder (47-17) in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance the Oklahoma City Thunder was defeated 105-93 on the road by the San Antonio Spurs. Ibaka recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks. This season Ibaka has very high stats. He averages: 13.4ppg, 7.9rpg, 2.9bpg, 2FGP: 58.3%(334-573), 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 77.9%. Ibaka has a dual citizenship: Congolese and Spanish. Ex-C.B. L'Hospitalet player is also a member of the Spanish senior national team.

Point guard Jose Manuel Calderon (192-81, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Detroit Pistons (23-43) in their game against the Los Angeles Clippers (45-20) in the NBA, despite his very good performance last Sunday. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Calderon also added 4 passes in 29 minutes. But the Detroit Pistons were crushed 129-97 in Los Angeles by the Clippers. It was Pistons' sixth consecutive loss in a row. Calderon has very impressive stats this year: 12.1ppg, 3.1rpg, 7.4apg and 1.2spg in the 18 games. He is also Spanish national team player.

   #5. International power forward Victor Claver (207-88, currently plays in NBA) faced previously mentioned Marc Gasol in the NBA last game. Claver was not able to secure a victory for the Portland Trail Blazers (29-34) in their game against the Memphis Grizzlies (43-19). He scored only 4 points. The Portland Trail Blazers were defeated 91-85 in Memphis by the Grizzlies. It's Claver's first season with the team. Claver's overall stats this year are: 2.9ppg and 2.3rpg. He plays currently for the Spanish national team.

   #6. Point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91, currently plays in Denmark) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked SISU (17-10) 99-84 in the Danish Ligaen last Monday. Ortega scored 18 points and added 9 passes. Randers Cimbria Basketball (13-14) is placed fifth in the Ligaen. Ortega is ranked first on the list of the best passers in the league and also on the list of most steals (fourth place). He has very reliable stats this season: 12.9ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.3apg and 2.0spg. Ortega is a former U18 international player as he played for the Spanish team four years ago.

Former international center Albert Miralles (208-82, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help ALBA Berlin (16-9) in their game against Artland Dragons (14-12) in the German BBL. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Miralles scored only 2 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. ALBA Berlin was badly defeated 72-56 in Quakenbrueck by the lower-ranked Artland Dragons (#6). Miralles' overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg and 3.5rpg. He used to play for the Spanish national team eight years ago.

   #8. Guard Francisco Robles (195-81, currently plays in United Kingdom) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Leicester Warriors 74-58 in the British EBL D1 (second division) on Sunday night. He was the top player that evening. Robles recorded 17 points (made all of his six free throws) in 25 minutes. Bristol Acadamy Flyers (12-8) is placed fifth in the EBL D1. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Robles has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.6apg and 1.1spg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Spanish U20 national team back in 2000.

   #9. Former U17 international point guard Daniel Munoz (183-87, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the one of league's weakest teams American (5-10) in their game against the U.S.Military Academy (9-5) in the NCAA. Munoz scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The American was crushed 65-44 in West Point, NY by the U.S.Military Academy. It was American's fifth consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Munoz is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in American's roster. He has reliable stats this season: 11.3ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.6apg and 1.1spg. Munoz used to play for the Spanish U17 national team ten years ago.

   #1. Tiago Splitter (211-C/F-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA) led San Antonio Spurs to a victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder (47-17) 105-93 in the NBA last Monday. Splitter was the best player in that game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. Splitter also added 3 assists. The San Antonio Spurs have a very solid 49-16 record this season. Splitter has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.5apg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish.

   #2. Experienced Luis Scola (206-F/C-80, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Phoenix Suns (22-42) in their last game on Friday. Despite Scola's good performance the Phoenix Suns were defeated 121-112 on the road by the Sacramento Kings. He recorded 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his six free throws). It's Scola's first season with the team. Scola has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.5ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.4apg. Scola is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Spanish.

   #3. Caio Silveira (211-C-87, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil), who plays in the Brazilian NBB was not able to help Flamengo (6-0) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Flamengo lost 74-89 at home to the lower-ranked (#4) Paschoalotto/Bauru. Silveira was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 26 minutes. This year Silveira has relatively solid stats: 12.9ppg and 6.9rpg in the 27 games he played so far. He has both Spanish and Brazilian nationalities.

   #4. Gustavo Barrera (194-G-85, currently plays in Uruguay) contributed to Hebraica's victory against the fourth-ranked Malvin (4-3) 81-72 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB last Wednesday. Barrera recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and making 18 passes. He also added 9 rebounds. Hebraica Macabi (2-5) is placed eighth in Serie 1. Barrera is currently first on the league's list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (third place). He has very reliable stats this season: 13.8ppg, 4.1rpg, 7.9apg and 2.0spg. Barrera also holds two passports: Spanish and Uruguayan.

   #5. Ariel Eslava (201-F/C-79, currently plays in Argentina) was the major contributor in a Olimpico de La Banda's victory against the second-ranked Lanus (29-14) 79-74 in the Argentinian LigaA on Sunday night. He scored 18 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 29 minutes. Ciclista Olimpico de La Banda (25-19) is placed sixth in the LigaA. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And that game will be critical. It's Eslava's first season with the team. This year Eslava's overall stats are: 4.6ppg and 3.7rpg in the 38 games. He has Spanish and Argentinian nationalities.

   #6. Arnette Hallman (199-F-88, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Lusitania 76-61 in the Portuguese LPB last Saturday. Hallman scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 40 minutes. Hallman is currently ninth on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). He has very impressive stats this year: 16.0ppg, 11.4rpg, 2.4apg and 2.1spg in the 16 games. Hallman is a naturalized American. He used to play for Estudiantes de Lugo in Spanish league.

   #7. Sergi Coll (204-F/C-82, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to Ovarense's victory against the ninth-ranked Fisica 76-64 in the Portuguese LPB on Saturday night. Coll scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. This season he has relatively solid stats: 14.4ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg.

   #8. Carlos Fernandez (197-F-87, college: IlIinois Tech, currently plays in United Kingdom) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Cheshire Phoenix crushing them 121-90 in the British BBL in Sunday night's game. Fernandez scored 12 points and added 6 assists in 31 minutes. This year his overall stats are: 6.5ppg, 4.9rpg and 2.9apg in the 25 games.

   #9. Alvaro Calvo (202-F-83, agency: Dynamics Global Management, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an Sao Jose/Vinac's victory against the closely-ranked Pinheiros 82-77 in the Brazilian NBB on Thursday night. He scored 7 points in 18 minutes. This year Calvo's overall stats are: 8.3ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.1apg in the 21 games.

Jeffrey Bonds (199-F-82, college: Cal Poly Pomona, currently plays in Finland) contributed to an Lapuan Korikobrat's surprising victory against the second-ranked Joensuun Kataja 97-81 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Wednesday. Bonds had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Bonds has relatively solid stats: 12.5ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.3apg in the six games.
