Eagles - Hoganas 80-78 White Eagles won the second straight Basketettan title. They grabbed 80-78 thriller win against Hoganas in the Big Final, which ended this afternoon. Hoganas was ahead by 15 points after three quarters before a 32-15 charge of White Eagles, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. White Eagles forced 24 Hoganas turnovers. American forward Joseph Taylor (203-F-85, college: Wyoming) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian guard Aleksandar Perisic (201-83) accounted for 18 points. Lithuanian power forward Linas Savickas (197-79) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian center Martynas Kuksta (203-89) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hoganas in the defeat. White Eagles won Group North of the regular season with perfect 22-0 record. They eliminated Nassjo in the Semifinals. Malbas - Nassjo 84-102 Third place in Basketettan belongs to Nassjo. They cruised past Malbas today 84-102 to take position No.3. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 63-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Nassjo forced 26 Malbas turnovers. Strangely Malbas outrebounded Nassjo 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Malbas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Christoffer Sillen (177-85) stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Mathias Liljeqvist (196-92) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five Nassjo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Australian guard John Fitzgerald (193-84, college: Lindsey Wilson) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Kosovan power forward Korab Ferizi (201-85) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nassjo was the second ranked team of Group South with 20-2 record. They were eliminated by Eagles in the Semis 73-75.
