Delvon Johnson gets MVP of the Week award for Swedish Basketligan - Feb 1, 2012

American Delvon Johnson (206-F/C-89, agency: Priority Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for Uppsala and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 22-year old power forward had a double-double of 20 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team edged out Jamtland (#9, 11-16) 85-81. Uppsala is placed at 6th position in Swedish Basketligan. Uppsala is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-12 record. Johnson turned to be Uppsala's top player in his first season with the team. The University of Arkansas graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.3rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 53.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American forward Christopher McKnight (201-F-87) of Boras. McKnight impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Boras lost that game 95-100 to slightly lower-ranked Solna (#5, 14-11). Boras managed to keep the same 3rd spot in the standings. His team's 15-11 record is not bad at all. McKnight is well-known by Boras fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Jonte Flowers (196-F/G-85, agency: Warren Sports International) of Solna (#5). Flowers got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds . He was a key player of Solna, leading his team to a 100-95 win against slightly higher-ranked Boras (#3, 15-11). Solna needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 11 lost games. Flowers has a very solid season. In 3 games in Sweden he scored 16.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Keith Ramsey (205-F-87) of LF Basket - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Dino Gregory (200-F-89) of Sundsvall - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Jakob Sigurdarson (192-G-82) of Sundsvall - 28 points and 5 assists
7. Johnell Smith (185-PG-80) of Sodertalje - 16 points
8. Boakai Lalugba (200-F/C-81) of Jamtland - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Kenneth Simms (203-C-86) of Sodertalje - 18 points and 3 rebounds
10. Demond Watt (200-F-89) of Eco Orebro - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
