Sweden continue their winning streak at the EuroBasket Women Qualification Round. The Scandinavian side overcame Bulgaria 80:60 in the start of Day 3.
Sweden produced an offensive start and took 29:24 after the first 10 minutes. Stanoeva however gave the hosts 34:33 lead and Daniela Georgieva (184-G/F-86) kept the advantage at 40:39. On top 41-40 at half, Sweden poured in the first six points of the second half and ended up outscoring the Bulgarians 21-9 in the frame to take command for good. Louice Halvarsson (189-C-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) and Frida Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored for 71:53 and Andersson brought 73:55. Sweden added 18-11 in the second frame for the final success.
Frida Eldebrink erupted with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Louice Halvarsson followed her with 12. Stefanie Yderstrom (172-G-90) and Elin Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 11 points each. Jaklin Zlatanova (190-F-88) ended up with 18 points in defeat, while Vera Perostiyska (196-C-82, college: FIU) collected 9 points and 13 boards. Daniela Georgieva posted 8, while Daniela Peteva (179-F-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had 7.

Visby Ladies (Damligan) inked 19-year old center Embla Andersson (186-97). She has played for the last two years at BG Lulea (BasketEttan). Andersson won Swedish BasketEttan Group North championship title in 2015. She represented Sweden at the European Championships U18 Division B for Women in Bucharest (Romania) last year. Visby Ladies (Damligan) re-signed 20-year old forward Johanna Petersson (178-96). She has played there for the last five seasons. In 29 Damligan games she averaged 6.0ppg and 3.3rpg last season. Lulea Basket (Damligan) inked 23-year old former Swedish international power forward Ulrica Holmqvist (186-93). She played most recently at Zabiny Brno in ZBL league in Czech Republic. In 20 games she recorded 8.0ppg and 2.8rpg last season. The most of previous (2014-15) season Holmqvist spent at BA Karlovy Vary (ZBL) in Czech Republic league.
