SWEDEN - ROMANIA 93-78

Sweden registered fourth win in 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications. This time Sweden was better than Romania 93-78 in Round Six, which was played last night. After this victory Sweden jumped to 4-1 record sharing the first place in Group D with Spain. Romania faced with its third defeat in five games. Sweden took control on its rival from the very beginning and they made double digit lead already in the first quarter. It was plus 19 for Sweden at the halftime and despite Romania threatened in Q3 (16-25), the hosts managed to keep comfortable lead for rest of the way. Frida Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) exploded with 32 points and 6 rebounds in this game. Stefanie Yderstrom (172-G-90) scored 15 and Elin Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 12 pts, plus 5 boards. Gabriela Marginean (182-F-87, college: Drexel) had 23 points and 8 rebs in defeat, while Ancuta Stoenescu (169-G-80, agency: Data Plus Group) followed with 14 pts and 6 rebs. Elisabeth Pavel (192-C-90) was limited to 11 pts and 5 boards in this meeting. Sweden will play in Spain on Wednesday and it could be a decisive game for the first place in Group D at the end of qualifications. Romania will host Germany.

American Nici Gilday (175-G-92) had a great game in the last round for Visby and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 25-year old guard had a double-double of 32 points and twelve rebounds, while her team beat KFUM Uppsala (#9, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 82-75.
