Sweden wins over Finland in Bucharest in the first day at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Sweden won all the quarters in the game for a 67:57 victory. Skagius and Alanen exchanged the early baskets and Erik Johansson (194-F-96) scored for 8:2. Finland reduced to 12:11 at the end of the first period and Henri Niemisto (194-G-96) gave his side 16:14 lead early in the second. Alanen and Elias Eerikinharju (185-G-96) scored for 29:28, while Erik Johansson sent the teams to the lockers at 39:35. Sweden added narrow 16-15 in the third period and led 5 points after three quarters. They finished the game with 12-7 and celebrated the first win at the tournament. Ludvig Hakanson (190-PG-96) stepped up with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Andreas Von Uthmann (196-F-96) posted 12. Erik Johansson notched 9 and Gustafsson delivered 6. Henri Niemisto ended up with 26 points in the losing effort while Fiifi Aidoo (175-PG-96), Elias Eerikinharju and Samuli Nieminen (200-F-96) had 6 apiece.
