The Scandinavian team wins Group A of the U16 European Championship in Division B. Sweden needed 78:71 win over Belarus to clinch the top place with 4-0 record. The latter meanwhile finished with 1-3 record on the 4th place in the group.
Belarus surprised the favorites of the group with 24-16 in the first period and led 8 points at the halftime. Anton Karatkevic (192-F-96)h sent the teams to the lockers at 42:34 as he made a dunk. Sweden however erupted with 15-0 run and grabbed 49:42 midway through the third frame. The managed to keep the opponents scoreless for about 7 minutes in the start of the quarter. Mikita Astapenka (198-C-96) meanwhile tied the game at 49:49 and Svanstrom closed the third period at 53:51. Sweden pushed the tempo for good in the last stanza and won the game.
Sheriff Drammeh (186-G-96) top-scored for the winners with 24 points, while Ludvig Swanstrom (196-F-96) collected 17 points and 13 rebounds. Hall Eriksson finished the game with 11 points, while William Skagius (200-PF-96) had 9 points and 13 boards. Maksim Salash (203-C-96) ended up with 21 points in the losing effort and Roman Rubinshteyn (190-PG-96) posted 17. Mikita Astapenka delivered 9, whilst Anton Karatkevic scored 5.

Swedish National Player Thomas Massamba(185-PG-85) helped his team Lukoil Academik to win in the semifinals over Rilski Sportist with 86-84 (3-2). Lukoil Academik forced 21 Rilski Sportist turnovers.
