U20 SPAIN - U20 SWEDEN 61-63

Sweden handed first loss to Spain at U20 EuroBasket in Debrecen. It was a 63-61 thriller win for Sweden, who joined Spain now on top of Group E with almost perfect 3-1 record. Sweden has a nice chance to win this pool and both teams already booked a spot for the Quarterfinals. It is important to mention that Sweden earned promotion last summer from Division B to Division A, while Spain is the defending champion at this event. Sweden celebrated thanks to jump shot by Farhiya Abdi (188-F-92) in the finish. Spain was scoreless for the last two and a half minutes of this game. Quarters: 17-17, 17-8, 13-17, 16-19. Abdi led Sweden with double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Binta Drammeh (180-F-92) added 17 points and 9 rebs. Their third scorer was Amanda Zahui (190-C-93) with 8 pts (7 rebs). In Spain, Andrea Vilaro (177-G-93, college: Florida) posted 17 points and Queralt Casas (180-G-92) stopped to 10 for 38 minutes on the court. Laura Gil (190-C-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) collected 8 points and 11 rebounds. In the last day of the second stage Sweden will play against Lithuania. Spain will meet Poland.
