Sweden improved to 2-2 record in Group B of the EuroBasket Qualification Round. The door to EuroBasket 2013 hasn't slammed shut for Sweden after 111:74 win over Luxembourg.
Sweden easily took 27:13 after the first period and added 28-24 in the second frame. The Scandinavian team did not slow down in the second half and produced also two victories. They came up with 31-16 in the third period and finished the game with 25-21 in the lasts stanza. Person made two free throws for 104:70, while Alexander Lindqvist (203-F-91) and Rush made it 108:72. Anton Saks (200-SF-89) nailed three for the final result in the game.
Anton Saks stepped up with 16 points for the winners and Christian Maraker (206-PF-82, college: Pacific) as well as Jonas Jerebko (206-PF-87) had 14 each. Kenny Grant (188-G-82, college: Davidson) and Alexander Lindqvist followed them with 13 points apiece. Christopher Jones (186-G-90) replied with 17 points in the losing effort and Samy Picard (196-PF-88) delivered 14. Martin Rajniak (205-PF-78, college: CSU Bakersfield) netted 11 and Tom Schumacher (189-PG-87, college: Cal.Baptist) posted 10.

The Second Stage in Basketettan just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Eskilstuna (6-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by IK Eos (6-1) 84-73. 28-year old forward Dino Cinac (201-F-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for Jamtland and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21. He had the game-high 29 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Jamtland in his team's victory, helping them to beat Uppsala (#6, 9-8) 98-88. The game between third ranked Boras Basket (11-8) and sixth ranked Sodertalje Kings (9-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Boras Basket was defeated by Sodertalje Kings in a tough game in Sodertalje 80-86. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Boras Basket.
