Forward Marcus Flink (190-F-94) had an amazing evening for BG Lulea, receiving a Eurobasket.com Basketettan Player of the Week award for round 1. The 18-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Alvik Basket (0-2). Flink had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at BG Lulea and it's hard to imagine this team without him.

The second best player in first round's games was 24-year old Egal Saleman (199-F-88) of Umea. Saleman had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds. It was enough for Umea to edge Fryshuset (0-1) 68-66. Saleman is a newcomer at Umea, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Swedish guard Kristoffer Gafor (194-G-92) of Malbas. Gafor scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Malbas, leading his team to a 88-70 easy win against Helsingborg (0-1). Malbas has a good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Gafor also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. It already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Bjorn Larsson Hillgren (88) of Alvik Basket - 21 points and 12 rebounds
5. Tresor Saya (203-C-84) of LF Future - 8 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Dwight Bankhead (181-PG-83) of Malbas - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Johan Westerlund (191-G/F-84) of Taby - 17 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Abdou Medjedoub (196-F-93) of Eos - 17 points and 14 rebounds
9. Richard Hartmann (201-F-89) of Akropol - 14 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Markus Lenngren (196-F-83) of Hogsbo - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Basketligan Round 3 of Semi-Finals. Norrkoping and BC Lulea record wins - 1 day ago
Norrkoping - Sodertalje 72-66 Norrkoping held off Sodertalje to take 2-1 lead. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sodertalje Kings won third quarter 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Norrkoping Dolphins made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Cole Darling (203-91, college: Wright St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led his team to a vic...   [read more]
