The Regular Season in Basketligan just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the first round.

Sundsvall - Uppsala 74-80
The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Uppsala Basket made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sundsvall Dragons turnovers. The former international Johan Jeansson (198-85) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and Australian point guard Rhys Carter (190-84) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Four Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Alex Wesby (198-80, college: Temple, agency: R.H.Consultancy) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Icelandic forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

Eagles - Eco Orebro 96-65
The game was mostly controlled by White Eagles. Eco Orebro was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. White Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Eco Orebro's 26. White Eagles forced 21 Eco Orebro turnovers and outrebounded them 31-18 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. White Eagles players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Eco Orebro's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Eco Orebro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Omar Krayem (185-86, college: Cal.Baptist, agency: Three Eye Sports) fired 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Joseph Taylor (205-85, college: Wyoming) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. White Eagles' coach Ronnie Christensen felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish point guard Mario Diez (188-82) produced 13 points and 4 assists and guard Brandon Barton (192-88) added 17 points respectively for lost side.

The game without a history. KFUM Jamtland led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KFUM Jamtland outrebounded Nassjo 49-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American guard Darryl Hudson (195-85, college: Howard, agency: Strategic Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian forward Drazen Klaric (204-80) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four KFUM Jamtland players scored in double figures. Polish center Szymon Lukasiak (208-87, college: Jacksonville) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN, agency: Warren Sports International) added 17 points in the effort for Nassjo.

The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 44-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bosnian forward Toni Bizaca (202-F-82) nailed 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and American center Kenneth Simms (203-86, college: Cumberland, agency: JEMsports) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds. Latvian point guard Edgars Jeromanovs (186-86) came up with 17 points and 6 assists and Icelandic guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 18 points respectively for Norrkoping Dolphins in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by 08 Stockholm helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard James Miller (180-79, college: N.Carolina A&T, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 6 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international guard Henrik Carlsson (193-80) contributed with 24 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Turkish guard Erkan Inan (192-89) answered with 21 points and American forward Kodi Augustus (203-87, college: Mississippi St., agency: Two Points) added 19 points in the effort for 08 Stockholm.

27-year old forward Franck Kouagnia (201-F-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Eskilstuna and receives a Basketettan Player of the Week award for round 5. Basketettan Round 5: First victory of KFUM Central - 1 day ago

The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory. KFUM Central's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. American Forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-F-90) had a great game in the last round for Jamtland, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 4.
