Here is the weekly review of the top performing Swedish players, who play currently abroad.

Brice Massamba
Brice Massamba
#1. This week's number one is an international power forward Brice Massamba (208-88, college: UNLV, currently plays in Croatia). He led Djuro Djakovic to an overtime victory against the closely-ranked Jolly (2-2) 89-85 in the Croatian A1 in Sunday night's game. Massamba scored 18 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 40 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. KK Djuro Djakovic Slavonski Brod (3-0) is placed first in the A1. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Massamba is ranked second on the list of the best rebounders in the league with 7.0rpg. He also averaged so far 12.0ppg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 60.9%(14-23) and FT: 72.7% in the three games he played so far. Massamba has a dual citizenship: Swedish and DR Congolese. He is currently a member of the Swedish senior national team.

Jonathan Skjoldebrand
Jonathan Skjoldebrand
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ronsport, currently plays in Israel). Skjoldebrand was the major contributor in a Hapoel Tel-Aviv's victory against one of league's weakest teams Hapoel J-M (0-2) 84-77 in the Israeli Winner League on Sunday night. He scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (1-1) is placed eighth in the Winner League. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Skjoldebrand has relatively good stats this year: 14.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 2FGP: 52.9% and FT: 83.3% in the two games. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Israeli. Ex-Sodertalje Kings player is in the roster of the Swedish senior national team.

Christian Maraker
Christian Maraker
#3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific, currently plays in Japan), who plays in the Japanese JBL. Maraker could not help one of league's weakest teams Panasonic Trians (6-2) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Panasonic Trians were defeated 85-71 on the road by the leading Toyota Alvark. Maraker scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This season Maraker averages: 6.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 3FGP: 42.9%. He is also a member of the Swedish senior national team.

Viktor Gaddefors
Viktor Gaddefors
#4. Small forward Viktor Gaddefors (203-92, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help SAIE3 BO (3-1) in their game against Cimberio Varese (4-0) in the Italian SerieA. Gaddefors recorded only 4 points in 16 minutes. SAIE3 BO lost 74-84 at home to the second-ranked Cimberio Varese. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. It's Gaddefors' first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 5.8ppg and 3.3rpg in the four games. Gaddefors is also Swedish national team player.

Thomas Massamba
Thomas Massamba
#5. International point guard Thomas Massamba (185-85, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Spartak Pleven (1-1) crushing them 100-74 in the Bulgarian NBL on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points. It was his first game for Lukoil Academik this season. His team is placed third in the NBL. Massamba plays currently for the Swedish national team.

Kenny Grant
Kenny Grant
#6. Guard Kenny Grant (188-82, college: Davidson, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Sluc Nancy (1-3) in their game against Chalon/Saor (2-1) in the French ProA. Grant cannot count Monday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and added 3 assists. Sluc Nancy was defeated 76-61 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked Chalon/Saor (#5). This season Grant averages just 0.8ppg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Swedish National Team roster.

Sebastian Schuszler
#8. Power forward Sebastian Schuszler (204-94, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help Rapla (0-3) in their game against Ventspils (4-0) in the Baltic League. He scored only 4 points. The sixth-placed Rapla was crushed 93-54 on their home court in Rapla by the leading Ventspils in the group A of Baltic League. So far Rapla lost all three games in the Regular Season. This season Schuszler averages just 2.7ppg. He plays currently for the Swedish U18 national team.

The list of other players, who all have Swedish passport but never been selected to any of Swedish national teams:

#1. Maciej Lampe (211-F/C-85, currently plays in Spain) led Caja Laboral to an easy victory against the closely-ranked FIATC Joventut (2-2) 92-76 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. Lampe recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Caja Laboral Vitoria (3-1) is placed sixth in the ACB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Lampe averages: 10.0ppg and 3.3rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.

#2. Elias Westerlund (197-F-88, currently plays in Norway) led Asker Aliens to a victory over the closely-ranked Baerum Basket (3-5) 85-68 in the Norwegian BLNO in Tuesday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Westerlund scored 31 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds in 34 minutes. Asker Aliens BC (1-6) is located at the very bottom in the BLNO. But the situation may improve as they ended a series of six consecutive loses. Westerlund has individually a very good year with high stats.
