Coincidentally all hosts won their games. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games.

Round 8 in Basketligan means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sundsvall where host Sundsvall Dragons (6-2) beat league's leader Sodertalje Kings (6-2) 62-58 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sodertalje Kings. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 62-58. Sundsvall Dragons forced 20 Sodertalje Kings turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Alex Wesby (198-80, college: Temple, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Icelandic forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Sundsvall Dragons' coach Peter Oqvist used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Kenneth Simms (203-86, college: Cumberland, agency: JEMsports) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Sundsvall Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sodertalje and Boras. Sodertalje Kings will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Sundsvall Dragons will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Solna Vikings on the road.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Boras Basket as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Sodertalje Kings) loss. Boras Basket defeated 9th ranked LF Basket at home 92-79. American point guard James Miller (180-79, college: N.Carolina A&T, agency: Higher Vision Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 6 assists. Terrence Oglesby contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) replied with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for LF Basket.
