James Miller gets MVP of the Week award for Swedish Basketligan - Nov 3, 2012

Experienced American James Miller (180-PG-79, agency: Higher Vision Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Boras and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 33-year old playmaker had the game-high 29 points adding four rebounds and six assists for Boras in his team's victory, helping them to beat LF Basket (#9, 3-5) 92-79. It allowed Boras to jump to the first place in the Swedish Basketligan. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Boras has a very solid 6-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Miller had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Boras' top player in his first season with the team. North Carolina A&T State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Miller is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.8ppg. Miller is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 59.8% FGP and 43.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American forward Darris Santee (203-F-87) of Eco Orebro. Santee impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Eco Orebro to edge Nassjo (#12, 0-8) by 2 points 84-82. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Eco Orebro keeps 11th position. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Eco Orebro managed to get this year. Santee is a newcomer at Eco Orebro and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Henry Dugat (183-G-87) of LF Basket (#9). Dugat showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Dugat's great performance LF Basket lost 79-92 to the higher-ranked Boras (#1, 6-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LF Basket not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 5 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Dugat could try to bring LF Basket's a little bit higher in the standings. Dugat has individually a great season in Sweden. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Urule Igbavboa (203-C-87) of LF Basket - 24 points and 8 rebounds
5. Joseph Taylor (205-F-85) of Eagles - 12 points and 11 rebounds
6. Alex Wesby (198-G-80) of Sundsvall - 24 points and 5 rebounds
7. James Hughes (211-C-83) of Norrkoping - 14 points and 7 rebounds
8. Christopher McKnight (201-F-87) of Boras - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Terrence Oglesby (188-G-88) of Boras - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
10. William Walker (200-F-87) of Nassjo - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
