We bring you last week's top performances from Swedish players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Jonathan Skjoldebrand
Jonathan Skjoldebrand
#1. This week's number one is an international power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ronsport, currently plays in Israel). Skjoldebrand led Hapoel Tel-Aviv to a victory over the closely-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (0-3) 78-70 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Skjoldebrand scored 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (2-1) is placed sixth in the Winner League. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Skjoldebrand has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 55.2%(16-29), 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 87.5%. Skjoldebrand has a dual citizenship: Swedish and Israeli. Ex-Sodertalje Kings player is currently a member of the Swedish senior national team.

Jonas Jerebko
Jonas Jerebko
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Jonas Jerebko (206-87, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Detroit Pistons (0-2) in their last game. Despite Jerebko's good performance the Detroit Pistons were edged 92-89 on the road by the Phoenix Suns. He recorded 11 points in a mere 17 minutes. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Jerebko's fourth year with the team. Jerebko has relatively good stats this season: 9.0ppg, 2.5rpg, 2FGP: 53.8% in the two games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Jerebko is in the roster of the Swedish senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Sweden.

Brice Massamba
Brice Massamba
#3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Brice Massamba (208-88, college: UNLV, currently plays in Balkan League). Massamba contributed to an overtime Djuro Djakovic's victory against the closely-ranked Mornar Bar (0-3) 85-79 in the Balkan League in Tuesday night's game. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. KK Djuro Djakovic Slavonski Brod (1-2) is placed fourth in the Balkan League. This season Massamba has relatively solid stats: 13.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.7apg, 2FGP: 66.7%(16-24) and FT: 43.8%. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and DR Congolese. Massamba is also a member of the Swedish senior national team.

Joakim Kjellbom
Joakim Kjellbom
#4. An experienced center Joakim Kjellbom (213-79, college: N.Arizona, currently plays in Georgia) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Samedicino-Academia (0-3) crushing them 95-45 in a derby game in the Georgian Superleague last Saturday. He scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in only 11 minutes. BC Armia Tbilisi (2-0) is placed third in the Superleague. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Kjellbom is ranked fifth on the list of the best blockers in the league with 1.0bpg. This year he also averages: 9.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.5spg in the two games. Kjellbom is also Swedish national team player.

Thomas Massamba
Thomas Massamba
#5. International point guard Thomas Massamba (185-85, currently plays in Bulgaria) managed to help Lukoil Academik Sofia to win against the closely-ranked Levski Sofia (2-1) crushing them 91-64 in a derby game in the Bulgarian NBL on Saturday night. He scored only 3 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 7 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lukoil Academik Sofia (3-0) is placed first in the NBL. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Massamba's overall stats this season are: 4.0ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.7apg. He plays currently for the Swedish national team.

Christian Maraker
Christian Maraker
#6. Power forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific, currently plays in Japan) contributed to a Panasonic Trians' victory against the closely-ranked Toshiba Thunders (6-4) 89-76 in the Japanese JBL in Saturday night's game. Maraker recorded 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 14 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Panasonic Trians (7-2) are placed second in the JBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Maraker's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 5.0ppg and 4.4rpg in the five games. Maraker is an international player who is currently on the senior Swedish National Team roster.

Viktor Gaddefors
Viktor Gaddefors
#7. International small forward Viktor Gaddefors (203-92, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help SAIE3 BO (3-2) in their game against Air Avellino (2-3) in the Italian SerieA. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Gaddefors scored only 2 points. SAIE3 BO was defeated 87-77 in Avellino by the lower-ranked Air Avellino (#8). Gaddefors' total stats this season are: 5.0ppg and 2.8rpg. He is also Swedish national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Swedish passport but never been selected to any of Swedish national teams:

#1. Maciej Lampe (211-F/C-85, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB could not help Caja Laboral (3-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Caja Laboral was edged in an overtime 83-81 on the road by the leading Real Madrid. Lampe was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 8 rebounds (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line) in 27 minutes. It was Caja Laboral's first loss after three consecutive victories. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Lampe has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg and 4.2rpg in the five games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.

#2. Elias Westerlund (197-F-88, currently plays in Norway) led Asker Aliens to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Ammerud Bskt (2-6) 68-63 in the Norwegian BLNO on Thursday night. Westerlund was the best player in that game. He recorded 26 points (!!!), 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 27 minutes. Asker Aliens BC (2-7) is located at the very bottom in the BLNO. Westerlund belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #2 with 22.3ppg. This year his other stats are: 3.8rpg and 1.5spg in the six games.

#3. Experienced Aleksandar Damjanovic (206-C/F-73, currently plays in Cyprus) managed to help Keravnos Strovolou to win against the fifth-ranked AEK (1-1) 59-55 in the Cypriot Division A in Saturday night's game. Damjanovic recorded only 4 points. It was his first game for Keravnos this season. His team is placed first in the Division A. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Damjanovic is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
