The most exciting game of round 9 in the Basketligan took place in Solna. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Solna Vikings (5-4) to second ranked Sundsvall Dragons (7-2) 85-82 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sundsvall Dragons outrebounded Solna Vikings 31-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Alex Wesby (198-80, college: Temple, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 6 rebounds. Icelandic forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) contributed with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston, agency: Pro One Sports) answered with 21 points for Solna Vikings. Solna Vikings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sundsvall Dragons have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Solna Vikings at the other side keep the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Norrkoping. Sundsvall Dragons are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nassjo (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Solna Vikings will play against the league's second-placed Boras Basket (#2) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

White Eagles at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Jamtland and Eco Orebro. Nassjo will play against league's leader Sundsvall Dragons on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. White Eagles' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Stockholm 08 Stockholm.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between 08 Stockholm (4-4) and Eco Orebro (3-6), which took place in Stockholm. Higher ranked 08 Stockholm lost at home to eleventh ranked Eco Orebro 72-90 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of 08 Stockholm. Terell Castle nailed 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Kodi Augustus came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds for 08 Stockholm in the defeat. Eco Orebro moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Jamtland and Eagles. Loser 08 Stockholm keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Eco Orebro will meet at home higher ranked Uppsala Basket (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. 08 Stockholm's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Stockholm to the arena White Eagles.

In the last game of round 9 Jamtland was beaten by LF Basket on the road 77-64.

Everything could happen in Lulea at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked LF Basket and 8th ranked KFUM Jamtland had identical 3-5 record. This time LF Basket used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Jamtland 77-64 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by LF Basket. KFUM Jamtland managed to win third quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-German center Urule Igbavboa (203-87, college: Valparaiso) nailed 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Boras Basket (Basketligan) re-signed 21-year old forward Simon Gunnarsson (198-95). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 38 Basketligan games he recorded 3.6ppg and 2.7rpg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Gunnarsson also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 4.3ppg and 1.5rpg. Norrkoping Dolphins (Basketligan) confirmed in their roster 37-year old ex-international center Joakim Kjellbom (212-101kg-79, college: N.Arizona). He has played there for the last three seasons.
