American Eureka Brooks (170-G-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Solna Vikings and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The 26-year old guard had the game-high 25 points adding three rebounds and two assists for Solna Vikings in her team's victory, helping them to beat Sallen (#9, 2-5) 62-50. Solna Vikings is placed at 4th position in Swedish Damligan. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Solna Vikings will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Brooks had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Solna Vikings, through which he has constantly improved. University of Florida graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brooks is in league's top in assists (4th best: 3.7apg) and averages solid 2.3spg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American guard Michele Miller (180-G-85) of Visby. Miller impressed basketball fans with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Visby lost that game 53-85 to the higher-ranked Telge (#2, 5-1). Visby is still second from the bottom in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Visby managed to get this year. Miller is a newcomer at Visby and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.2ppg (#6). She also registered 7.8 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was another Solna Vikings' star - former international center Katarina Andersson (191-C-83). Andersson scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She was another key player of Solna Vikings, helping her team with a 62-50 win against the lower-ranked Sallen (#9, 2-5). Solna Vikings needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Andersson has a great season in Sweden. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.6ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 8.6rpg (2nd best). She also has 2.6bpg and FGP: 54.0%.
