Basketligan round 12 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Boras Basket (9-3) against seventh ranked 08 Stockholm (6-5) 109-107 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Boras Basket. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 109-107. 08 Stockholm looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Boras Basket's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Boras Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international guard Olivier Ilunga (185-84) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. American forward Kodi Augustus (203-87, college: Mississippi St., agency: Two Points) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American point guard James Miller (180-79, college: N.Carolina A&T, agency: Higher Vision Sports) replied with 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists for Boras Basket. 08 Stockholm moved-up to sixth place. Boras Basket at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sundsvall. Boras Basket will play next round against Uppsala Basket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. 08 Stockholm will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked KFUM Jamtland on the road.
Important game to mention about took place in Solna. Eighth ranked LF Basket (5-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Solna Vikings (6-6) 89-87 on Monday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Christopher Ryan who added 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Donald Johnson (201, college: CSU Bakersfield) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. LF Basket maintains eighth position with 5-6 record. Solna Vikings at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. LF Basket will play against bottom-ranked Nassjo (#12) at home in the next round. Solna Vikings will play against Sodertalje Kings (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game for Sundsvall Dragons (10-2) which played road game in Uppsala against 4th ranked Uppsala Basket (7-4). Second ranked Sundsvall Dragons managed to get a 9-point victory 81-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Uppsala Basket. The winners were led by Alex Wesby who scored that evening 29 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points by Johan Jeansson did not help to save the game for Uppsala Basket. Uppsala Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sundsvall Dragons have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Uppsala Basket keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Norrkoping. Sundsvall Dragons will meet at home Eco Orebro (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Uppsala Basket will play against the league's second-placed Boras Basket (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Nassjo managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Nassjo outleveled tenth-ranked KFUM Jamtland 82-62. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference suggests that Nassjo is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The best player for the winners was Tut Ruach who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Newly promoted Nassjo maintains twelfth position with 2-10 record. KFUM Jamtland lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with nine games lost. Nassjo's next round opponent will be higher ranked LF Basket (#8) in Lulea and it may be quite challenging game.
