There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most interesting game of round 9 in the Basketettan was only two-point a home defeat of 4th placed Haga Haninge (6-3) to third ranked Brahe Basket (7-2) 86-84. Brahe Basket forced 20 Haga Haninge turnovers. Jamaican center Hugh Robinson (202-83) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Nigerian forward Kevin Ukhagbe (200-85, college: Bethany, KS) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Bjorn Johansson (190-83) with 25 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brahe Basket moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Malbas. Haga Haninge lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. Brahe Basket is looking forward to face Boras II (#5) at home in the next round. Haga Haninge will play against Hoganas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Umea (6-2) against ninth ranked Orongo Dragons (4-5) on Sunday night. Host Umea was edged by Orongo Dragons in a tough game at home 52-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Umea. Forward Markus Williams (198-93) nailed 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Daniel Eliasson accounted for 21 points. Forward Egal Saleman (199-88) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds for Umea in the defeat. Orongo Dragons moved-up to eighth place in North. Newly promoted Umea keeps the third position with two games lost. Orongo Dragons will play against higher ranked KFUM Blackebergs (#5) in Vallingby in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Umea will play on the road against Akropol in Spanga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Basketettan top team - Taby Basket (9-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Jarva Devils (1-8) 84-76. The best player for the winners was Jimmy Lundin who scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Kevin Olofsson who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds. Jarva Devils' coach Jana Svensson rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Taby Basket maintains first place in North with 9-1 record. Jarva Devils lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with BG Lulea. Taby Basket will meet at home Solna Branten (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jarva Devils will play against Fryshuset (#9) in Stockholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Basketettan top team - IK Eos (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Hoganas (4-5) in Lund 99-70. It was a good game for Adnan Karovic who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. IK Eos' coach Axel Wallin felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated IK Eos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in South with 9-0 record. Hoganas at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. IK Eos' next round opponent will be Hogsbo (#8) in Goteborg and are hoping to win another game. Hoganas will play at home against Haga Haninge and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Sanda Basket (0-9) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to second ranked Malbas (7-2) 98-39 on Saturday evening. Kristoffer Gafor stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals for the winners. Coach Henrik Svensson's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Malbas. They maintain second place in South with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Eos, which they share with Brahe Basket. Sanda Basket lost their ninth game in a row. They still closes the standings with nine games lost. Malbas will face Jarfalla (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sanda Basket will play against Hoganas and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 9:
In North Akropol destroyed Uppsala KFUM on the opponent's court 94-63. BG Lulea unfortunately lost to LF Future in a home game 65-74.
In South Hogsbo managed to beat Helsingborg on the road 90-76. Jarfalla was defeated by Talje on its own court 70-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists by Christian Koutras of Akropol.

Jarva Devils - Taby 76-84

Basketettan top team - Taby Basket (9-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Jarva Devils (1-8) 84-76. The best player for the winners was guard Jimmy Lundin (184-90) who scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Frank Nordin (-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Four Taby Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Kevin Olofsson (-92) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Omid Behboudi (191-86) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Orongo Dragons dominated on the defensive end, holding Umea to just 0 points in fourth quarter and to 13 points in second half. Very expected game when 10th ranked KFUM Uppsala (3-6) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Akropol (5-3) 94-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Akropol led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while KFUM Uppsala only scored five points from the stripe. Akropol forced 21 KFUM Uppsala turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by KFUM Uppsala's players. KFUM Uppsala was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Greek guard Christian Koutras (189-88, college: Cuesta JC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four Akropol players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Kevin Grant (-94) with 16 points and Oliver Jonsson (194-92) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Very predictable result when third ranked LF Future (7-2) defeated on the road 12th ranked BG Lulea (1-8) 74-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-65. Strangely BG Lulea outrebounded LF Future 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Guard Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and naturalized Australian swingman Timothy Kearney (200-86) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Marcus Flink (190-94) with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Andreas Von Uthmann (196-96) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LF Future moved-up to second place in North. BG Lulea lost their eighth game in a row. Helsingborg was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hogsbo forced 20 Helsingborg turnovers. Helsingborg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Markus Lenngren (196-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Jonathan Peleg (191-94) chipped in 22 points and 5 steals. There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Talje Knights (2-5) edged on the road 8th ranked Jarfalla (3-5) 72-70 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-70. Guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) stepped up and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Mario Blazevic (180-93) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was center Jean Alix (200-79) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and center Leonard Halling (200-92) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Jarfalla players scored in double figures. Jarfalla's coach Bjorn Hjalmarsson tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Talje Knights maintains tenth place in South with 2-5 record. Newly promoted Jarfalla dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Basketettan top team - IK Eos (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Hoganas (4-5) in Lund 99-70. IK Eos made 29-of-34 charity shots (85.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Hoganas turnovers and outrebounded them 45-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Hoganas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Adnan Karovic (187-88) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Center David Hult (204-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four IK Eos players scored in double figures. IK Eos' coach Axel Wallin felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lithuanian center Martynas Kuksta (203-89) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Nerijus Strazdauskas (198-84) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hoganas.
