Tampereen Pyrinto won over Sodertalje Kings to tie both records at 1-3 in Group C of EuroChallenge. The Finnish side celebrated their initial win with 73:65.
Tampereen Pyrinto started with 19-14 and scored the same number of points in the second quarter. It was even enough to take 12-point advantage at the halftime. Sodertalje Kings way way too far to give up and replied with 26-17 in the third period as Toni Bizaca (202-F-82) reduced to 55:52 at the end of the 30 minutes. Moreover Kenneth Simms (203-C-86, college: Cumberland) brought 58:57 early in the last stanza, but Tampereen Pyrinto desired to win the game more. They posted 18-13 in the last period to win the game by 8 points.
Lamonte Ulmer (198-SF-86, college: Rhode Island) led the way with 24 points and Damon Williams (201-F-73, agency: Two Points, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo) collected 19 points and 10 rebounds. Antero Lehto (184-G-84) posted 7, while Antti Nikkila (210-C-78, college: Valparaiso) and Carl Lindbom (206-F-91) had 6 points each. Dino Pita (192-SG-88) answered with 21 points in the losing effort and Kenneth Simms had 16. Toni Bizaca produced 15, while Martin Pahlmblad (183-G-86) notched 6.
