The most exciting game of round 14 in the Basketligan took place in Stockholm. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked LF Basket (6-7) to seventh ranked 08 Stockholm (8-6) 103-101 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of LF Basket. 08 Stockholm looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by LF Basket's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when 08 Stockholm made 8 blocks. The former international center Joakim Blom (211-76, agency: Court Side) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Olivier Ilunga (185-84) chipped in 7 points and 13 assists during the contest. American guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) responded with 28 points. 08 Stockholm moved-up to sixth place. LF Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. 08 Stockholm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. LF Basket will play at home against the league's second-placed Uppsala Basket (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.

Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) notched 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Alex Wesby supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Even 20 points by Serbian guard Nenad Stefanovic (193-85, agency: Beo Basket) did not help to save the game for White Eagles. Sundsvall Dragons have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Newly promoted White Eagles keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Sundsvall Dragons will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#4) in Norrkoping in the next round. White Eagles will play on the road against Boras Basket (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 14: Boras won against Eco Orebro on the opponent's court 103-88. Norrkoping managed to outperform Solna in a home game 91-76. 08 recorded a loss to Uppsala on the road 85-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Christopher McKnight of Boras.



Nassjo - Sodertalje 69-70

Twelfth-ranked Nassjo (2-12) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Sodertalje Kings (8-4) on Friday. The visitors from Sodertalje managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 19-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sodertalje Kings made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American center Kenneth Simms (203-86, college: Cumberland) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Basic-Fit Brussels (Euromillions League) inked 28-year old Swedish international guard Dino Pita (195-86kg-88). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Bosnia and Herzegovina passport. Pita played most recently at Sodertalje Kings in Swedish Basketligan. In 35 games he recorded 10.5ppg and 1.9rpg last season. He helped them to win the league title.
