Basketettan is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 11 rounds left. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game between second ranked Malbas (8-3) and fifth ranked Boras II (7-3) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Malbas were defeated by Boras II in a tough game in Boras 76-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Malbas. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 26-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Boras II dominated on the defensive end, holding Malbas to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 21 Malbas turnovers. Boras II looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Malbas' players. Forward Dmytro Purdik (192-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Hajzer Ismaili (201-94) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Boras II's coach Magnus Jason used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Jacob Magnusson (184-94) answered with 17 points and 5 assists for Malbas. Boras II moved-up to third place in South. Malbas at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. Boras II are looking forward to face Jarfalla (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Malbas will play against Helsingborg (#11) and are hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Brahe Basket (7-4) against seventh ranked Eskilstuna (6-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Brahe Basket was defeated by Eskilstuna in Eskilstuna 77-64. It was a great evening for guard Pontus Oksman (185-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!). Daniel Urban helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Tanju Yulman (186-90) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Brahe Basket's coach Demetrius Poles rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Eskilstuna moved-up to sixth place in South. Brahe Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Haga Haninge. Eskilstuna will play against higher ranked Haga Haninge (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brahe Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Huskvarna to the arena Sanda Basket.
An interesting game for Akropol (8-3) which played road game in Lulea against second-ranked LF Future (8-3). Third ranked Akropol managed to get a 11-point victory 77-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of LF Future. It was an exceptional evening for Richard Hartmann who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds. Tresor Saya came up with 9 points and 15 rebounds for LF Future in the defeat. Akropol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Umea and LF Future. Akropol will meet at home Jarva Devils (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LF Future will have a break next round.
Basketettan top team - Taby Basket (9-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Fryshuset (4-6) 85-73. The best player for the winners was Frank Nordin who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taby Basket maintains first place in North with 9-1 record. Fryshuset at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Taby Basket will have a break next round. Fryshuset will play at home against Solna Branten (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Basketettan top team - IK Eos (11-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Helsingborg (1-9) in Lund 81-72. David Hult orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated IK Eos have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place in South with 11-0 record. Helsingborg lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. IK Eos will face Talje Knights (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Helsingborg will play against the league's second-placed Malbas in Malmo.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 11:
In North Blackeberg was smashed by Umea on the road 90-66. Orongo won against Alvik Basket on its own court 73-66. Jarva Devils unfortunately lost to Solna Branten in a road game 46-47. BG Lulea were rolled over Akropol at home 63-84.
In South Hoganas was crushed by Eskilstuna on the opponent's court 89-60. Jarfalla beat Hoganas in a home game 85-80. Winless Sanda were destroyed by Talje on the road 116-54.
The most impressive performance of 11th round was 30 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists by Lluis Jacas of Eskilstuna.



Group North
Taby - Fryshuset 85-73

Basketettan top team - Taby Basket (9-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Fryshuset (4-6) 85-73. The game was mostly controlled by Taby Basket. Fryshuset was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Frank Nordin (-90) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Erik Andersson (197-87) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Taby Basket players scored in double figures. Naturalized Ugandan guard Kassim Nagwere (187-90) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Nathan Dawit (189-94) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taby Basket maintains first place in North with 9-1 record. Fryshuset at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Taby Basket will have a break next round. Fryshuset will play at home against Solna Branten (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Umea - Blackeberg 90-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Umea's (8-3) home victory over 5th ranked KFUM Blackebergs (6-4) 90-66 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Umea. KFUM Blackebergs was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded KFUM Blackebergs 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Egal Saleman (199-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Per Bergmark (195-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Binyam Feghadu (195-89) answered with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Gino Panghulan (175-90) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for KFUM Blackebergs. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Umea moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Akropol and LF Future. Loser KFUM Blackebergs keep the fifth position with four games lost. Umea will face KFUM Uppsala (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KFUM Blackebergs will play against Alvik Basket (#8) in Bromma.

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Alvik Basket (4-6) lost to ninth ranked Orongo Dragons (5-6) in Sundsvall 66-73 on Sunday. Alvik Basket was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Orongo Dragons, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Daniel Eliasson (190-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Oskar Granat (181-95) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Guard Gustav Hansson (182-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Anton Juhlin (-91) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Alvik Basket. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Orongo Dragons moved-up to seventh place in North. Newly promoted Alvik Basket dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Orongo Dragons will have a break next round. Alvik Basket will play on the road against KFUM Blackebergs (#5) in Vallingby.

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Solna Branten (5-4) edged at home 11th ranked Jarva Devils (1-10) 47-46 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Jarva Devils were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 19-9 charge of Solna Branten, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Jarva Devils to just 3 points in second quarter. Niklas Larsson (198-94) saved the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jesper Eliasson (204-94) contributed with 2 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Omid Behboudi (191-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jobel Tekle (194-90) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Jarva Devils. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Solna Branten have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place in North. Jarva Devils lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Solna Branten will face Fryshuset (#9) in Stockholm in the next round. Jarva Devils will play on the road against the league's second-placed Akropol in Spanga.

Naturalized Greek guard Christian Koutras (189-88, college: Cuesta JC) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Akropol players scored in double figures. Center Tresor Saya (203-84) came up with 9 points and 15 rebounds and guard Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) added 18 points respectively for LF Future in the defeat. Akropol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Umea and LF Future. Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked BG Lulea (1-10) was outscored at home by third ranked Akropol (8-3) 84-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Akropol led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to BG Lulea's 32. Akropol forced 21 BG Lulea turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Swingman Lamin Sonko (193-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 4 assists. Forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Akropol players scored in double figures. Forward Marcus Flink (190-94) answered with 16 points and forward Andreas Von Uthmann (196-96) added 10 points in the effort for BG Lulea. BG Lulea's coach Dennis Pihl gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Akropol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Umea and LF Future. BG Lulea lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Eskilstuna (6-6) outplayed at home 7th ranked Hoganas (6-7) 89-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Eskilstuna led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Eskilstuna forced 22 Hoganas turnovers and outrebounded them 41-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hoganas' players. Spanish forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Spanish Julian Rodriguez Lopez contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Eskilstuna players scored in double figures. Eskilstuna's coach Peter Oksman felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. Lithuanian power forward Linas Savickas (197-79) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Nerijus Strazdauskas (198-84) added 14 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for Hoganas. The game between second ranked Malbas (8-3) and fifth ranked Boras II (7-3) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Malbas were defeated by Boras II in a tough game in Boras 76-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Malbas. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 26-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Boras II dominated on the defensive end, holding Malbas to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 21 Malbas turnovers. Boras II looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Malbas' players. Forward Dmytro Purdik (192-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Hajzer Ismaili (201-94) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Five Boras II players scored in double figures. Boras II's coach Magnus Jason used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Jacob Magnusson (184-94) answered with 17 points and 5 assists and guard Kristoffer Gafor (194-92) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Malbas. Boras II moved-up to third place in South. Malbas at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. Boras II are looking forward to face Jarfalla (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Malbas will play against Helsingborg (#11) and are hoping to win this game.

Eskilstuna - Brahe Basket 77-64

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Brahe Basket (7-4) against seventh ranked Eskilstuna (6-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Brahe Basket was defeated by Eskilstuna in Eskilstuna 77-64. The game was mostly controlled by Eskilstuna. Brahe Basket was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Pontus Oksman (185-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!). Forward Daniel Urban (198-88) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Tanju Yulman (186-90) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Plaisir Mukoko (190-91) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Brahe Basket players scored in double figures. Brahe Basket's coach Demetrius Poles rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Eskilstuna moved-up to sixth place in South. Brahe Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Haga Haninge. Eskilstuna will play against higher ranked Haga Haninge (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brahe Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Huskvarna to the arena Sanda Basket.

Basketettan top team - IK Eos (11-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Helsingborg (1-9) in Lund 81-72. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. IK Eos made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Helsingborg turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Helsingborg was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center David Hult (204-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Adnan Karovic (187-88) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Four IK Eos players scored in double figures. Forward Niklas Sellin (197-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Kosovan forward Gazmend Sinani (203-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Helsingborg. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. IK Eos have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place in South with 11-0 record. Helsingborg lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. IK Eos will face Talje Knights (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Helsingborg will play against the league's second-placed Malbas in Malmo.

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Talje Knights (4-5) crushed at home bottom-ranked Sanda Basket (0-11) 116-54 on Thursday. The game without a history. Talje Knights led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Sanda Basket's 30 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Talje Knights forced 19 Sanda Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 39-15 including a 27-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Talje Knights especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Sanda Basket's players. Center Alexander Larsson (203-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) contributed with 31 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Albin Hall Eriksson (-96) answered with 13 points and forward Dennis Meraz (196-94) added 6 points in the effort for Sanda Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Talje Knights. They moved-up to eighth place in South. Sanda Basket lost their eleventh game in a row. They still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Talje Knights will face league's leader IK Eos in Lund in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sanda Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Huskvarna Brahe Basket.

Basic-Fit Brussels (Euromillions League) inked 28-year old Swedish international guard Dino Pita (195-86kg-88). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Bosnia and Herzegovina passport.
