Damligan top team - Norrkoping Dolphins (16-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Udominate (8-7) in Umea 82-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Udominate. The game was mostly controlled by Norrkoping Dolphins. Udominate managed to win fourth quarter 30-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Udominate helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International Malin Aasa (180-87) stepped up and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international guard Johanna Kallman (172-87) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Jessica Nilsson (184-89) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Norrkoping Dolphins have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-1 record. Udominate at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins are looking forward to face league's second-placed Telge at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Udominate will play against Visby Ladies (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked 08 Stockholm (0-16) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 16th consecutive match to ninth ranked IK Eos (5-10) 55-47. Point guard Raushan Gultekin (165-94) nailed 12 points for the winning side and Joanna Ausmann accounted for 7 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Nathalie Schonberg (-90) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds for 08 Stockholm in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. IK Eos maintains ninth place with 5-10 record. 08 Stockholm at the other side still closes the standings. IK Eos will play against Jarfalla (#11) in Stockholm in the next round. 08 Stockholm will play at home against Kvarnby and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Rashada McCants orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Sallen's coach Jenny Hakanson gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains second place with 13-2 record having five points less than leader Norrkoping. Sallen at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Telge's next round opponent will be league's leader Norrkoping Dolphins on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sallen will play against Northland (#3) in Lulea.

In the last two games of round 17 Mark Basket was destroyed by Northland on the opponent's court 81-59. Jarfalla unfortunately lost to Solna Vikings in a home game 62-73.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points and 15 rebounds by Michele Miller of Visby.



Kvarnby - Visby 64-69

An interesting game took place in Kvarnby where higher ranked Kvarnby (6-10) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Visby Ladies (4-12) 69-64 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-13. But Kvarnby won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Visby Ladies dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kvarnby's 28. Visby Ladies forced 27 Kvarnby turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Earnesia Williams (185-87, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Michele Miller (180-85, college: Xavier) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Rather expected game in Lulea where 5th ranked Mark Basket (9-7) was crushed by third ranked Northland (13-3) 81-59. The game was mostly controlled by Northland. Mark Basket was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Northland forced 21 Mark Basket turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Mark Basket's players. Power forward Josefin Vesterberg (187-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 9 rebounds. Greek guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Northland players scored in double figures. Northland's coach Mikael Johansson felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Ashley Key (177-85, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Amber Petillon (193-82, college: Richmond) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mark Basket. Northland have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-3 record having four points less than leader Norrkoping. Mark Basket lost fourth consecutive game. Very predictable result in Stockholm where fourth ranked Solna Vikings (11-5) defeated 10th ranked Jarfalla (4-12) 73-62. It looked good early as Jarfalla took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Solna Vikings had a 19-16 second period charge getting the lead and Jarfalla was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-73. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Eureka Brooks (170-86, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Swingman Christy Bacon (182-80, college: Wyoming) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Solna Vikings players scored in double figures.
