Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Swedish players who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Erik Rush (196-88, college: Montana St., currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA. Rush could not help Cimberio Varese (13-2) to beat Umana Venezia (7-8). He scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The league leader Cimberio Varese was edged 87-85 on the road by the much lower-ranked Umana Venezia (#9). It was Cimberio Varese's first loss after four consecutive victories. This season Rush averages: 3.9ppg, 1.9rpg, 2FGP: 31.8%, 3FGP: 40.7% and FT: 66.7%. He is a naturalized American. Rush is currently a member of the Swedish senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Sweden.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Thomas Massamba (185-85, currently plays in Bulgaria). Massamba led Lukoil Academik to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Euroins Cherno More (5-7) crushing them 87-65 in the Bulgarian NBL on Saturday night. He recorded 11 points and added 5 assists (made all of his six free throws) in 22 minutes. Lukoil Academik Sofia (11-2) is placed first in the NBL. This year Massamba's overall stats are: 5.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.2apg, 2FGP: 53.6%, 3FGP: 30.4% and FT: 85.7% in the 13 games he played so far. He is in the roster of the Swedish senior national team.

   #3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international forward Jeffery Taylor (200-89, college: Vanderbilt, currently plays in NBA). Taylor was not able to help the Charlotte Bobcats (10-30) in their game against the Boston Celtics (20-19) in the NBA. He scored 8 points. The Charlotte Bobcats were defeated 100-89 in Boston by the Celtics. Taylor's total stats this season are: 6.5ppg, 2.2rpg, 2FGP: 43.5%, 3FGP: 36.5% and FT: 82.0%. He is a naturalized American. Taylor played for the Swedish U20 national team five years ago. Apparently he has never played in Sweden.

   #4. Small forward Viktor Gaddefors (203-92, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA was not able to secure a victory for SAIE3 BO (6-9) in their last game. Despite Gaddefors' very good performance SAIE3 BO lost 64-79 on the opponent's court to the much higher-ranked (#4) Cantu. He was the top scorer with 15 points in 20 minutes. It was SAIE3 BO's fifth consecutive loss in a row. This year Gaddefors' total stats are: 4.2ppg and 2.7rpg in the 15 games. He is also Swedish national team player.

   #5. International guard Kenny Grant (188-82, college: Davidson, currently plays in France) contributed to a Sluc Nancy's victory against one of league's weakest teams Poitiers (5-11) 72-66 in the French ProA on Saturday night. Grant scored 10 points and added 3 assists. Sluc Nancy Basket Pro (7-9) is placed tenth in the ProA. Grant has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 1.1apg. He plays currently for the Swedish national team.

   #6. Guard Chris Czerapowicz (201-91, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Davidson (6-1) in their last game. Despite Czerapowicz's good performance the Davidson lost 57-70 in Statesboro, GA to the Georgia Southern University. He scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 36 minutes. Czerapowicz has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 1.1apg in the 16 games. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Swedish team two years ago.

   #7. International power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ronsport, currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli Winner League couldn't help Hapoel Tel-Aviv (5-8) in their last game. Despite Skjoldebrand's good performance Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost 83-98 in Jerusalem to the higher-ranked (#5) Hapoel J-M. He recorded 10 points in 22 minutes. It was Hapoel Tel-Aviv's fifth consecutive loss in a row. Skjoldebrand has averaged so far 9.3ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.2apg in the 13 games. He is also Swedish national team player.

   #8. Point guard Jonathan Person (192-93, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Oettinger Rockets Gotha (6-11) in their game against Finke Baskets (7-11) in the German ProA (second division). He scored 5 points. It was his first game for Oettinger Rockets Gotha this season. Oettinger Rockets Gotha was defeated 97-85 in Paderborn by the higher-ranked Finke Baskets (#12). Person plays currently for the Swedish national team.

   #9. U20 international forward Sebastian Norman (206-92, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Lamar (0-6) in their game against the Mc Neese State University (2-4) in the NCAA. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Norman recorded only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Lamar this season. The Lamar was crushed 74-50 in Lake Charles, LA by the Mc Neese State University. So far Lamar lost all six games in the conference Norman is also in the roster of the Swedish U20 national team.


The list of other players, who all have Swedish passport but never been selected to any of Swedish national teams:

   #1. Maciej Lampe (211-F/C-85, currently plays in Spain) led Caja Laboral to an overtime victory over the league outsider Assignia Manresa (2-15) 101-95 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Lampe scored 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 23 minutes. Caja Laboral Vitoria (14-3) is placed second in the ACB. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Lampe has relatively good stats this year: 12.5ppg and 5.1rpg in the 17 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.

   #2. Experienced Aleksandar Damjanovic (206-C/F-73, currently plays in Cyprus) was the major contributor in Keravnos' victory against the closely-ranked Etha (10-4) 65-54 in the Cypriot Division A last Saturday. Damjanovic recorded 12 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Keravnos Strovolou (11-3) is placed first in the Division A. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Damjanovic has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 3.0rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

   #3. Elias Westerlund (197-F-88, currently plays in Norway) led Asker Aliens to a victory over the league outsider Ammerud Bskt (3-13) crushing them 103-74 in the Norwegian BLNO in Sunday night's game. Westerlund was MVP of the game. He scored 27 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds. Asker Aliens BC (7-9) is placed second from the bottom (#6) in the BLNO. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Westerlund's first season with the team. Westerlund is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Westerlund averages: 22.1ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2spg.

   #4. Challe Barton (190-G, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Oregon St. (0-5) to beat the Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles (5-1). He scored only 4 points and added 4 passes in 23 minutes. The Oregon St. lost 64-74 on the road to the Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles. So far Oregon St. lost all five games in the conference Barton has very impressive stats this year: 22.1ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.2spg in the 13 games.

   #5. Daniel Bwomono (197-F-77, currently plays in Norway) faced previously mentioned Elias Westerlund in the Norwegian BLNO last game. Bwomono was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Ammerud Bskt (3-13) in their game against Asker Aliens (7-9). He scored only 4 points. The bottom-ranked Ammerud Bskt was crushed 103-74 in Asker by the one of league's weakest teams Aliens (#6). It's Bwomono's first season with the team. Bwomono has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 2.2rpg.

Norrkoping Dolphins (Basketligan) added to their roster 24-year old forward Fredrik Larsson (201-93). He started the season at Malbas (Basketligan). Larsson has played there for the last three years. In 15 Basketligan games he recorded 11.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.2apg this season. The last season he played also at Malbas where in 33 Basketligan games he averaged 10.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.3apg. 26-year old point guard Gino Panghulan (175-PG-90) had an amazing evening in the last round for KFUM Blackeberg and receives a Eurobasket.com Basketettan Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage). He had the game-high 25 points adding three rebounds and three assists for KFUM Blackeberg in his team's victory, helping them to beat BG Lulea (#6, 2-4) 72-65. The Second Stage in Basketettan just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Eskilstuna (6-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by IK Eos (6-1) 84-73.
