The most important game in the last round took place in Norrkoping between third ranked Boras Basket (16-8) and sixth ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (14-8) on Friday night. Boras Basket was defeated by Norrkoping Dolphins in a tough game on the road 92-99. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Boras Basket. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-92. Norrkoping Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Boras Basket's 34 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Boras Basket 52-22 including a 20-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Icelandic guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87, agency: I.D.S. Law) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Joakim Kjellbom (213-79, college: N.Arizona) who added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Michael Palm (209-79, college: W.Washington, agency: R.H.Consultancy) with 22 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Defending champion maintains sixth position with 14-8 record. Boras Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins are looking forward to face higher ranked Sodertalje Kings (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Boras Basket will play against Eco Orebro and is hoping to win this game.

The winners were led by American forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN, agency: Warren Sports International) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Tut Ruach supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists by American-Bosnian point guard Terell Castle (182-72, college: Nicholls St., agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Eco Orebro. Newly promoted Nassjo maintains twelfth position with 4-20 record. Eco Orebro at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Eagles. Nassjo will play against league's leader Sundsvall Dragons at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eco Orebro will play against Boras Basket (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

The best player for the winners was Hlynur Baeringsson who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Gerald Riley who recorded 17 points. Sundsvall Dragons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-3 record. White Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Eco Orebro. Sundsvall Dragons will meet bottom-ranked Nassjo (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. White Eagles' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Stockholm to the arena 08 Stockholm.

In the last game of round 24 08 lost to Sodertalje on the opponent's court 71-75.



Sodertalje - 08 75-71

Rather expected game when 7th ranked 08 Stockholm (11-13) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Sodertalje Kings (16-5) 75-71 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But 08 Stockholm won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Sodertalje Kings especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was Bosnian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. American center Kenneth Simms (203-86, college: Cumberland) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kodi Augustus (203-87, college: Mississippi St., agency: Two Points) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Rudy Mbemba (184-87) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. Sodertalje Kings have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. 08 Stockholm lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Sodertalje Kings will meet Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) in the next round. 08 Stockholm's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Stockholm White Eagles.

The game was mostly controlled by Sundsvall Dragons. White Eagles managed to win fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Boras Basket (Basketligan) re-signed 21-year old forward Simon Gunnarsson (198-95). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 38 Basketligan games he recorded 3.6ppg and 2.7rpg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Gunnarsson also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 4.3ppg and 1.5rpg. Norrkoping Dolphins (Basketligan) confirmed in their roster 37-year old ex-international center Joakim Kjellbom (212-101kg-79, college: N.Arizona). He has played there for the last three seasons.
