Here is the weekly review of the top performing Swedish players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Erik Rush (196-88, college: Montana St., currently plays in Italy). Rush led Cimberio Varese to a victory against the ninth-ranked Enel Brindisi (8-8) 83-71 in the Italian SerieA last Sunday. He recorded 13 points. Cimberio Varese (14-2) is placed first in the SerieA. It's Rush's first season with the team. This year Rush averages: 4.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 2FGP: 36.0%, 3FGP: 42.4% and FT: 66.7%. He is a naturalized American. Rush is currently a member of the Swedish senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Sweden.

   #2. Second place goes to former U20 international forward Jeffery Taylor (200-89, college: Vanderbilt, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Taylor could not help the Charlotte Bobcats (11-32) to beat the Atlanta Hawks (25-18). He scored 9 points in 24 minutes. But the Charlotte Bobcats lost 92-104 on the road to the Hawks. It was Bobcats' third consecutive loss in a row. This year Taylor's overall stats are: 6.5ppg, 2.1rpg, 2FGP: 44.5%, 3FGP: 35.9% and FT: 81.5% in the 42 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Taylor played for the Swedish U20 national team in 2008. Apparently he has never played in Sweden.

   #3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Thomas Massamba (185-85, currently plays in Bulgaria). Massamba contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Euroins Cherno More (6-7) crushing them 87-65 in the Bulgarian NBL in Saturday night's game. He recorded 11 points and added 5 assists (made all of his six free throws). Lukoil Academik Sofia (12-2) is placed first in the NBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Massamba's total stats this season are: 5.5ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.1apg, 2FGP: 51.6%, 3FGP: 30.4% and FT: 85.7%. He is also a member of the Swedish senior national team.

   #4. Guard Chris Czerapowicz (201-91, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Appalachian State University (3-4) crushing them 79-56 in the NCAA last Saturday. Czerapowicz scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 32 minutes. The Davidson College has a very good 8-1 conference record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Czerapowicz's total stats are: 5.5ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.1apg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Swedish U20 national team back in 2011.

   #5. International guard Kenny Grant (188-82, college: Davidson, currently plays in France), who plays in the French ProA was not able to help Sluc Nancy (7-10) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Grant's good performance Sluc Nancy was defeated 72-62 in JDA Dijon by the higher-ranked JDA Dijon (#9). He recorded 10 points. Grant has averaged so far 3.5ppg and 1.2apg. He plays currently for the Swedish national team.

   #6. Point guard Jonathan Person (192-93, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Oettinger Rockets Gotha's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (12-7) 94-85 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Person recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 25 minutes. BiG Oettinger Rockets Gotha (7-12) is placed 14th in the ProA. Person has averaged so far 6.7ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.3apg in the three games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Swedish National Team roster.

International center Andreas Schreiber (206-87, agency: Two Points, college: Pennsylvania, currently plays in United Kingdom) was not able to secure a victory for Plymouth Raiders (12-6) in their game against Durham Wildcats (6-13) in the British BBL. Schreiber scored only 4 points. It was his first game for Plymouth Raiders this season. Plymouth Raiders was badly defeated 98-81 in Durham by the one of league's weakest teams Wildcats (#11). They ended the series of four consecutive victories. Schreiber is also Swedish national team player.

   #8. Small forward Viktor Gaddefors (203-92, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help SAIE3 BO (6-10) in their game against Vanoli Cremona (6-10) in the Italian SerieA. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Gaddefors recorded only 3 points in 19 minutes. SAIE3 BO was edged 93-92 at home by the lower-ranked (#12) Vanoli Cremona. It was SAIE3 BO's sixth consecutive loss in a row. Gaddefors has averaged so far 4.1ppg and 2.5rpg in the 16 games. He plays currently for the Swedish national team.

   #9. International power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ronsport, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Hapoel Tel-Aviv in a 3-point victoryagainst the closely-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-9) 54-51 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday. Skjoldebrand scored only 2 points in 14 minutes. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (6-8) is placed sixth in the Winner League. It was his team's first victory after five consecutive loses. Skjoldebrand has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.1apg in the 14 games. He is also in the roster of the Swedish national team.

   #10. Forward Sebastian Norman (206-92, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Lamar (0-8) in their game against the Central Arkansas (3-5) in the NCAA. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Norman scored only 1 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 14 minutes. The Lamar was crushed 88-59 in Conway, AR by the Central Arkansas. So far Lamar lost all eight games in the conference Norman has averaged so far 4.2ppg and 2.5rpg in the 17 games. He is U20 international player who is currently on the Swedish National Team roster.


The list of other players, who all have Swedish passport but never been selected to any of Swedish national teams:

   #1. Maciej Lampe (211-F/C-85, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain could not help Caja Laboral (4-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the third-placed Caja Laboral lost 79-90 at home to the second-ranked Regal FC Barcelona in the group F of Euroleague. Lampe had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 30 minutes. It was Caja Laboral's first loss after four consecutive victories. Lampe has relatively good stats this year: 12.6ppg and 6.1rpg in the 15 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.

   #2. Hussein Tawbeh (198-F-82, currently plays in Lebanon) contributed to a 1-point Hoops Club's victory against the fourth-ranked Amchit (8-4) 82-81 in the Lebanese Division A in Wednesday night's game. Tawbeh recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Hoops Club (3-9) is placed eighth in the Division A. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Tawbeh has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.2apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Lebanese.

   #3. Experienced Daniel Bwomono (197-F-77, currently plays in Norway) was not able to help Ammerud Bskt (3-16) in their game against Gimle BBK (9-12) in the Norwegian BLNO. Bwomono recorded 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. But the bottom-ranked Ammerud Bskt was defeated 92-80 on the road by the higher-ranked Gimle BBK (#5). It was Ammerud Bskt's fifth consecutive loss in a row. Bwomono has averaged so far 4.2ppg and 2.5rpg.   




Basketligan Round 28: Sodertalje Kings lose to Norrkoping Dolphins in the game between Top 4 teams - 7 hours ago
The game between Top Four teams took place in Norrkoping. Second ranked host Norrkoping Dolphins (17-7) defeated one of their biggest challengers Sodertalje Kings (15-7) 73-62. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. One of the best players in PLK 26-year old Swedish international guard Chris Czerapowicz (201-91kg-91, college: Davidson) leaves Miasto Szkla Krosno and moves to MoraBanc Andorra in Liga Endesa. In his last game in Poland Chris scored 24 points (21 in last quarter) but it was not enough for Anwil adn the opponents will play in tomorrow's Cup finall.
