There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked IK Eos (13-2) on the court of fourth ranked Boras II on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Boras II 81-73. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-73. Boras II forced 21 IK Eos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mohamed Nefatti (196-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and forward Richard Maraker (198-84, college: CS Stanislaus) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals during the contest. At the losing side guard Adnan Karovic (187-88) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boras II maintains fourth position in South with 9-5 record. IK Eos at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. Boras II will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. IK Eos will play on the road against Jarfalla and are hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Umea. First ranked Akropol (13-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Umea (11-5) 81-79 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and Athanasios Kalpakas supported him with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Even 26 points and 5 assists by guard Johan Pierre (187-89, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Umea. Umea's coach Jesper Gustavsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Akropol have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 13-3 record. Newly promoted Umea keeps the third place with five games lost. Akropol will play against Orongo Dragons (#9) in Sundsvall in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Umea will have a break next round.
A very close game took place in Solna between KFUM Blackebergs and Solna Branten. Fifth ranked KFUM Blackebergs (9-5) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Solna Branten (6-8). KFUM Blackebergs managed to escape with a 2-point win 72-70 on Sunday evening. Charles Carayol fired 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Jesper Eliasson produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. KFUM Blackebergs maintains fifth position in North with 9-5 record. Loser Solna Branten keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Alvik Basket. KFUM Blackebergs will meet Alvik Basket (#7) in the next round. Solna Branten will play against Alvik Basket in Bromma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Sundsvall. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Orongo Dragons (6-10) to sixth ranked KFUM Uppsala (8-8) 83-80 on Saturday evening. KFUM Uppsala have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position in North with 8-8 record. Orongo Dragons at the other side dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. KFUM Uppsala's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Taby Basket at home and it may be quite challenging game. Orongo Dragons will play against the league's leader Akropol (#1) in Spanga.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Malbas (10-6) against ninth ranked Talje Knights (7-7) on Sunday night. Visiting Malbas were defeated by Talje Knights in a tough game in Talje 66-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Malbas. Worth to mention a great performance of Jesper Andersson who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds. Talje Knights moved-up to seventh place in South. Loser Malbas keep the third position with six games lost. Talje Knights will face league's second-placed Brahe Basket in Huskvarna in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16:
In North Alvik Basket won against Fryshuset on the opponent's court 64-62. Taby managed to outperform BG Lulea in a home game 81-77. BG Lulea managed to beat Jarva Devils on the road 81-72.
In South Haga Haninge crushed Sanda on its own court 108-76. Jarfalla smashed Helsingborg in a road game 83-64.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals by Tomas Oberg of Haga Haninge.



Group North
Fryshuset - Alvik Basket 62-64

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Stockholm where 9th ranked Fryshuset (6-10) was edged by tenth ranked Alvik Basket (6-8) 64-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 18-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Marten Melinder (194-92) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Olof Jagbeck (188-91) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Alvik Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Ugandan guard Kassim Nagwere (187-90) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Nathan Dawit (189-94) scored 17 points. Alvik Basket moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Solna Branten. Fryshuset lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Alvik Basket will face higher ranked KFUM Blackebergs (#5) in Vallingby in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fryshuset will play at home against KFUM Blackebergs (#5) in Vallingby.

Umea - Akropol 79-81

Important game to mention about took place in Umea. First ranked Akropol (13-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Umea (11-5) 81-79 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Umea won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Umea 44-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. Very predictable result when second ranked Taby Basket (12-2) defeated at home 11th ranked BG Lulea (2-13) 81-77 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Taby Basket forced 21 BG Lulea turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Frank Nordin (-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Erik Andersson (197-87) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Taby Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Marcus Flink (190-94) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Marcus Grahn (183-95) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Haga Haninge led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Haga Haninge forced 19 Sanda Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 50-30 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Haga Haninge looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Sanda Basket's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Tomas Oberg (183-82) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals and forward Tim Hakansson (192-80) who added 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Helsingborg - Jarfalla 64-83

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Helsingborg (4-11) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Jarfalla (9-6) 83-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-64. Jarfalla dominated on the defensive end, holding Helsingborg to just 7 points in second quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of center Leonard Halling (200-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and guard Jonas Schutser (180-95) who added 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Jarfalla players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Niklas Sellin (197-91) responded with 20 points and guard Billy Andersson (193-89) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jarfalla have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Jarfalla maintains fifth position in South with 9-6 record, which they share with Haga Haninge. Loser Helsingborg keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Jarfalla will face Haga Haninge (#6) at home in the next round. Helsingborg will play against Sanda Basket (#12) in Huskvarna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Basic-Fit Brussels (Euromillions League) inked 28-year old Swedish international guard Dino Pita (195-86kg-88). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Bosnia and Herzegovina passport.
