Sweden has announced a list of 24 players, all of whom have been invited to camp, as preparations are about to start in a week. The list features all fourteen players who played a game in EuroBasket Qualifiers last summer. As was previously mentioned, Farhiya Abdi (188-F-92) is attending Los Angeles Sparks training camp, so she would be available only when/if she gets cut. Frida Eldebrink (174-G-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas)s rehab is going according to plan, which means she should be ready sooner rather than later. The Swedes are also optimistic about recovery of Louice Halvarsson (189-C-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas), who underwent a knee surgery. On the list theres also Ashley Key (177-G-85, college: N.Carolina St.) American guard, who was third leading scorer in Swedish league this season. Key intends to obtain a Swedish citizenship in near future. If done in time she could give a boost for the Swedish guard corps.
Sweden announced their preparation plans in February. Only thing thats changed from back then is that theyll play in Lithuania against Lithuanians, Chinese and Japanese, instead of Latvians.
