There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Basketligan.

An interesting game for Sundsvall Dragons (26-5) which hosted in Sundsvall 4th placed Boras Basket (21-10). First ranked Sundsvall Dragons had an easy win 111-88. The game without a history. Sundsvall Dragons led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sundsvall Dragons outrebounded Boras Basket 55-34 including a 46-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Icelandic forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) contributed with 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Sundsvall Dragons' coach Peter Oqvist felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for Boras Basket. Sundsvall Dragons maintains first place with 26-5 record. Boras Basket at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Sundsvall Dragons are looking forward to face league's second-placed Uppsala Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boras Basket will play against LF Basket in Lulea and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Stockholm. Eleventh ranked White Eagles (6-25) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (19-11) 96-94 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Agnis Cavars helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Mikael Lindquist (193-83, agency: Court Side) responded with 32 points. Newly promoted White Eagles maintains eleventh place with 6-25 record. Defending champion Norrkoping Dolphins keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. White Eagles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Norrkoping Dolphins will play on the road against 08 Stockholm (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Ninth-ranked Nassjo (7-24) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Sodertalje Kings (22-8) on Friday. The visitors from Sodertalje managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nassjo. It was an exceptional evening for Wictor Grenthe who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). William Walker came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for Nassjo in the defeat. Sodertalje Kings maintains third place with 22-8 record having five points less than leader Sundsvall. Newly promoted Nassjo keeps the ninth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Jamtland. Sodertalje Kings will meet bottom-ranked Eco Orebro (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nassjo will play against Solna Vikings and hope to secure a win.

Keith Wright fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Coach Kelly Grant's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Uppsala Basket maintains second place with 23-8 record having just three points less than leader Sundsvall. Eco Orebro lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Uppsala Basket's next round opponent will be league's leader Sundsvall Dragons on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Eco Orebro will play against Sodertalje Kings (#3).

In the last two games of round 31 08 beat Solna on the road 88-76. LF Basket won against Jamtland on its own court 89-73.



Solna - 08 76-88

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked 08 Stockholm (15-16) beat on the road 6th ranked Solna Vikings (19-12) 88-76. The game was mostly controlled by 08 Stockholm. Solna Vikings was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Kodi Augustus (203-87, college: Mississippi St., agency: Two Points) fired 27 points for the winners. The former international guard Olivier Ilunga (185-84) chipped in 12 points. American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston, agency: Pro One Sports) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Donald Johnson (201, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Solna Vikings players scored in double figures. 08 Stockholm maintains seventh place with 15-16 record, which they share with LF Basket. Solna Vikings at the other side keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. 08 Stockholm's next round opponent will be higher ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (#5) in Norrkoping and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Rather expected game when 10th ranked KFUM Jamtland (7-24) lost to eighth ranked LF Basket (15-16) in Lulea 73-89. The game was mostly controlled by LF Basket. KFUM Jamtland was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for LF Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) fired 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international guard Christopher Ryan (196-90) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Andreas Karlsson (200-89) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Tim Whitworth (198-81, college: Drexel) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. LF Basket have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 08. KFUM Jamtland lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 24 games lost. LF Basket's next round opponent will be higher ranked Boras Basket (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 34-22 last quarter charge of Norrkoping Dolphins cut the lead to 96-94 at the end of the game. White Eagles made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Norrkoping Dolphins were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Latvian forward Agnis Cavars (196-86) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. Cavars is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
