The Regular Season in Basketligan is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 7 rounds.

Top ranked BC Lulea (20-6) recorded its sixth loss on the court of third ranked Sodertalje Kings on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Sodertalje Kings 82-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Lulea. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Sodertalje Kings led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sodertalje Kings outrebounded BC Lulea 35-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Estonian guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88) who scored 21 points. Croatian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) produced 17 points and 5 assists for the guests. BC Lulea's coach Peter Oqvist rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion (17-7) moved-up to second place, which they share with Norrkoping. BC Lulea at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Sodertalje Kings is looking forward to face Boras Basket (#6) on the road in the next round. BC Lulea will play against the league's second-placed Norrkoping Dolphins (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Umea supposed to be also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Boras Basket (14-12) played at the court of 8th ranked Umea (4-22). Boras Basket smashed Umea 93-69. American forward Shaquille Hines (203-93, college: UTRGV) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Christian Maraker contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Boras Basket's coach Jonte Karlsson felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international point guard Rudy Mbemba (184-87) answered with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Umea. Boras Basket moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jamtland. Umea lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 22 games lost. Boras Basket will play against higher ranked Sodertalje Kings (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Umea will play against Nassjo (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 29 Nassjo were defeated by Jamtland in a road game 93-78. Sodertalje beat Malbas at home 89-72.
The best stats of 29th round was 28 points by Valter Lindstrom of Sodertalje.

Malbas - Uppsala 55-90

The game with biggest result difference took place in Malmo. Local Malbas (2-24) were outscored by fifth ranked Uppsala Basket (14-10) 90-55 on Friday night. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-55. Uppsala Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Malbas' 18. Uppsala Basket forced 19 Malbas turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Uppsala Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Malbas' players. The former international point guard Jonathan Person (190-93, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 assists for the winners and swingman Anes Zekovic (195-95) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Four Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) responded with 14 points and American Josh Ritchart (206-92, college: Cal-Davis) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Jamtland - Nassjo 93-78

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Nassjo (12-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked KFUM Jamtland (14-12) 93-78 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by KFUM Jamtland. Nassjo managed to win second period 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KFUM Jamtland forced 20 Nassjo turnovers. Strangely Nassjo outrebounded KFUM Jamtland 44-31 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jabril Durham (185-94, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Dartaye Ruffin (205-91, college: Drexel, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Reginald Johnson (191-94, college: Hampton) scored 18 points. There were just four rounds played in Regular Season of Superettan and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Superettan top team - Djurgarden (4-0) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat ninth ranked Alvik Basket (0-3) in Stockholm 91-82.
