Basketettan is at the halfway of the Second Stage and there are still another 6 rounds left.

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Basketettan took place in Goteborg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Hogsbo (3-6) to second ranked AIK (7-1) 74-71 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hogsbo won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AIK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Serkan Inan (201-86) chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lukas Brehm (191-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted AIK maintains second position in Superettan with 7-1 record having 4 victories less than leader IK Eos. Hogsbo at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. AIK are looking forward to face Trelleborg (#4) on the road in the next round. Hogsbo will play against Wetterbygden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jamtland. First ranked Taby Basket faced 3rd ranked Jamtland II. Guests from Taby (10-1) defeated host Jamtland II (7-5) 83-78. It was a good game for center Marcus Friman (203-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds. Mattias Herlitz contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Olle Lundqvist (198-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for Jamtland II. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Taby Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in BEHN forts with 10-1 record. Jamtland II at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Adnan Karovic scored 19 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. IK Eos' coach Axel Wallin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Leonard Halling-Ibo with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. IK Eos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in BEHS forts with 11-1 record, which they share with Eskilstuna. Huddinge lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. IK Eos will meet at home league's second-placed Eskilstuna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Huddinge will play against RIG Mark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Djurgarden. Top-ranked Djurgarden faced 3rd ranked Koping. Host Djurgarden (9-0) defeated guests from Koping (4-5) 77-70. Oladapo Ayuba notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort. Newly promoted Djurgarden maintains first position in Superettan with 9-0 record. Koping at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Djurgarden's next round opponent will be Wetterbygden (#6) in Huskvarna where they are favorite. Koping will play at home against LF Future and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Talje was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Lobas (6-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Talje Knights (3-9). Lobas defeated Talje Knights 75-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Stefan Alavuk who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Lobas moved-up to fourth place in BEHS forts. Talje Knights lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Lobas will face Hoganas (#8) on the road in the next round. Talje Knights will play against RIG Mark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rest of the games of round 6 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In BEHN forts KFUM Uppsala was crushed by KFUM Fryshuset in Stockholm 103-76.
In BEHS forts Helsingborg beat RIG Mark at home 88-75. Eskilstuna destroyed RIG Mark on the opponent's court 68-42.
In BEHN forts KFUM Central outscored KFUM Blackeberg in a home game 86-61.
In Superettan Alvik Basket recorded a loss to Wetterbygden on the road 77-70. LF Future defeated Trelleborg on its own court 101-95.

Basketettan
KFUM Fryshuset - KFUM Uppsala 103-76

There was no surprise in Stockholm where 6th ranked KFUM Uppsala (3-7) was crushed by second ranked KFUM Fryshuset (9-2) 103-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. KFUM Fryshuset led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Uppsala's 42. They outrebounded KFUM Uppsala 46-31 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. KFUM Fryshuset looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Sami Harun (192-98) who had a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. Guard Jacob Bodin (190-97) chipped in 29 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alan Zekovic (195-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Tobias Skyttevall (196-95) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five KFUM Fryshuset and four KFUM Uppsala players scored in double figures. KFUM Fryshuset maintains second position in BEHN forts with 9-2 record having just three points less than leader IK Eos. Loser KFUM Uppsala keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. KFUM Fryshuset will face BG Lulea (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. KFUM Uppsala will play against KFUM Blackeberg in Vallingby and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Helsingborg - RIG Mark 88-75

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Helsingborg (8-7) defeated at home 6th ranked RIG Mark (3-9) 88-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Helsingborg. RIG Mark was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Anton Persson (180-97) who scored 20 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Guard Erik Joelsson (196-97) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Helsingborg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Tim Carlsten (183-0) who recorded 19 points and guard Ludvig Johansson (177-98) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. RIG Mark's coach Michael Bree rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Even 21 points and 4 assists by the former international swingman Sean Smith (198-87, college: NC-Asheville) did not help to save the game for Koping. American guard Khalil Davis (196-94, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Interperformances) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Koping players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Djurgarden maintains first position in Superettan with 9-0 record. Koping at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Djurgarden's next round opponent will be Wetterbygden (#6) in Huskvarna where they are favorite. Koping will play at home against LF Future and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Alvik Basket's (1-8) road loss to seventh ranked Wetterbygden (3-5) 70-77 on Sunday. The game without a history. Wetterbygden led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was guard Albin Hall-Eriksson (187-96) who scored 25 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Tanju Yulman (187-90) chipped in 17 points. Wetterbygden's coach Dennis Aulander used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Richard Hartmann (203-89) who recorded 25 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jacob Johansson (195-95) added 7 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Wetterbygden moved-up to sixth place in Superettan. Loser Alvik Basket keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Wetterbygden will face Hogsbo (#7) in Goteborg in the next round. Alvik Basket will play at home against LF Future and hope to win that game.

There was a small surprise in Lulea where sixth ranked LF Future (3-4) won against one of their biggest challengers Trelleborg (4-5) 101-95 on Saturday. Trelleborg trailed by 24 points at halftime and as many as 26 after three quarters before a 35-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 95-101 at the end of the game. LF Future forced 21 Trelleborg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when LF Future made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Brian Curry (185-86) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman David Jallow-Haggqvist (198-93) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. LF Future's coach Jim Enbom used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Papy Ndiaye (187-94) who recorded 25 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and guard Jordan-Gerami Lou (-97) added 26 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. LF Future moved-up to fifth place in Superettan. Loser Trelleborg keeps the fourth position with five games lost. LF Future will face Alvik Basket (#8) in Bromma in the next round. Trelleborg will play at home against the league's second-placed AIK (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Hogsbo - AIK 71-74

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Basketettan took place in Goteborg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Hogsbo (3-6) to second ranked AIK (7-1) 74-71 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hogsbo won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AIK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Serkan Inan (201-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four AIK players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lukas Brehm (191-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward Filip Sjostrom (200-90) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted AIK maintains second position in Superettan with 7-1 record having 4 victories less than leader IK Eos. Hogsbo at the other side dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. AIK are looking forward to face Trelleborg (#4) on the road in the next round. Hogsbo will play against Wetterbygden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

31-year old guard Serkan Inan (201-G-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team AIK Basket and receives a Eurobasket.com Superettan Player of the Week award for round 1. He had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat IK Eos (#6, 1-1) 94-80. It allowed AIK Basket to take over top position in the Swedish Superettan.
