We bring you last week's top performances from Swedish players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international shooting guard Marcus Eriksson (201-93, currently plays in Spain). He could not help FC Barcelona (14-6) to beat Movil Estudiantes (16-5). Eriksson recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. But FC Barcelona was edged in an overtime 83-81 on the road by the higher-ranked Movil Estudiantes (#3). This season Eriksson averages: 6.7ppg, 1.4rpg, 3FGP: 49.0%(25-51). He played for the Swedish senior national team four years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international forward Pierre Hampton (201-91, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in United Kingdom). Hampton was the major contributor in a Leicester Riders' victory against the tenth-ranked Cheshire Phoenix (5-17) 82-75 in the British BBL on Saturday night. He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. Hampton also added 3 assists in 26 minutes. Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders (20-2) is placed first in the BBL. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. It's Hampton's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 56.6%(69-122), 3FGP: 28.2% and FT: 74.5% in 20 games he played so far. Former Eco Orebro starter played for the Swedish national team in 2014.

   #3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international small forward Jeffery Taylor (201-89, college: Vanderbilt, currently plays in Spain). Taylor was not able to help Real Madrid in their game against CB Canarias (17-5) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored only 4 points. Real Madrid was defeated 75-64 in Tenerife by the leading CB Canarias. It was Real Madrid's third consecutive loss in a row. Taylor's overall stats this season are: 4.4ppg, 1.6rpg, 3FGP: 32.4% and FT: 52.4%. He is a naturalized American. Taylor played for the Swedish national team four years ago. Strangely he has never played in Sweden.

   #4. Guard Dino Pita (195-88, currently plays in Poland) was not able to secure a victory for Krosno (13-10) in their last game. Despite Pita's good performance Krosno lost 67-79 in Zgorzelec to the lower-ranked (#11) PGE Turow. He scored 11 points (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 26 minutes. This year Pita's overall stats are: 7.9ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.4apg in nine games. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Swedish. Pita is also Swedish national team player.

   #5. An experienced former international power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, currently plays in Israel) contributed to an Ironi Nahariya's surprising victory against the third-ranked Bnei Hasharon (12-8) 67-64 in the Israeli Winner League on Monday night. He scored 10 points. Ironi Nahariya (9-11) is placed ninth in the Winner League. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Skjoldebrand has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.7spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Israeli. Skjoldebrand used to play for the Swedish national team four years ago.

   #6. Power forward Jonas Jerebko (208-87, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Los Angeles Lakers (19-43) crushing them 115-95 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes. The Boston Celtics have a solid 40-22 record this season. This year Jerebko's total stats are: 4.2ppg and 3.4rpg in 61 games. He is a naturalized American. Jerebko is a former international player as he played for the Swedish senior team four years ago. He used to play for Boras/Marbo Basket in Swedish league.

International shooting guard Johan Lofberg (199-95, currently plays in Spain) led Oviedo CB to a victory over the 14th-ranked CB Prat (10-16) 97-79 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Saturday. Lofberg was MVP of the game. He scored 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo (17-9) is placed fourth in the LEB Gold. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Lofberg has reliable stats this season: 12.8ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.2apg. He is also Swedish national team player.

Point guard Tobias Borg (184-93, currently plays in Spain) managed to help RETAbet Bilbao Basket in a victory against the league outsider La ICL Manresa (3-18) 86-79 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. Borg recorded only 4 points and added 4 passes in 24 minutes. RETAbet Bilbao Basket (10-10) is placed ninth in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Borg has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.0apg in 21 games. He plays currently for the Swedish national team.

   #9. Former international small forward Erik Rush (196-88, college: Montana St., currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Recanati (6-17) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Rush's very good performance the 15th-placed Recanati (6-17) was badly defeated 83-66 in Trieste by the much higher-ranked Alma (#3) in the East group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 15 rebounds. Rush has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.6ppg, 11.6rpg and 5.6apg. Rush is a naturalized American. He used to play for the Swedish national team four years ago. Apparently Rush has never played in Sweden.

Shooting guard Martin Pahlmblad (193-86, currently plays in Greece) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Doxa Lefkadas (3-17) crushing them 97-65 in the Greek A1 in Saturday night's game. Pahlmblad recorded 6 points in 18 minutes. GS Kymis (6-14) is placed 12th in the A1. Pahlmblad has averaged so far 4.4ppg and 1.6rpg in 20 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Swedish National Team roster.

   #11. Former international small forward Viktor Gaddefors (201-92, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Juvecaserta in their game against Armani Milano in the Italian Serie A. Gaddefors cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only one point, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. His team was defeated 78-74. Gaddefors has averaged so far 3.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Swedish national team four years ago.

   #12. U20 international guard Sheriff Drammeh (191-96, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Hawaii (6-5) in their last game. Despite Drammeh's good performance the Hawaii lost 75-84 at home to the Long Beach State University. He recorded 12 points and added 6 passes in 37 minutes. Drammeh has averaged so far 9.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.8apg in 25 games. He is also in the roster of the Swedish U20 national team.

   #13. Former U20 international forward Alexander Larsson (208-95, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Cal-Riverside (5-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Larsson's good performance the Cal-Riverside was defeated 84-77 in San Luis Obispo by the Cal Poly -. He scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Larsson has averaged so far 6.4ppg and 4.1rpg. He used to play for the Swedish U20 national team two years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international guard Alexander Gorski (196-94, is currently at the American university) contributed to Wyoming's victory against the University of New Mexico 82-71 in the NCAA last Saturday. Gorski scored 9 points in 16 minutes. Gorski has averaged so far 8.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.7apg in 26 games. He used to play for the Swedish U20 national team back in 2014.

   #15. Former U20 international forward Henrik Jadersten (211-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Santa Clara in their game against the Saint Mary's College of California in the NCAA. He scored 6 points in only 5 minutes. His team lost 56-70. Jadersten has averaged so far 4.9ppg and 2.7rpg in 30 games. He used to play for the Swedish U20 national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Swedish passport but never been selected to any of Swedish national teams:

   #1. Maciej Lampe (211-C/F-85, currently plays in China) could not help Leopards (26-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Leopards were edged 95-92 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Sharks. Lampe had a double-double by scoring 32 points and getting 13 rebounds in 33 minutes. Lampe has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 23.6ppg, 12.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.3spg in 42 games he played so far. Lampe has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.

   #2. Omar Krayem (186-PG-88, college: Cal.Baptist, currently plays in Slovakia) led Prievidza to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Nova Ves (6-28) crushing them 101-74 in the Slovakian SBL last Wednesday. He scored 11 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 20 minutes. BC Prievidza (23-10) is placed third in the SBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Krayem's stats this year are: 11.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 4.3apg in three games. He is a naturalized American. Krayem used to play for KSF Srbija Malmo in Swedish league.

   #3. Damir Markota (209-F/C-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider TED Kolejliler (2-18) 100-81 in the Turkish BSL on Saturday night. He recorded 8 points. Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi (7-12) is placed 12th in the BSL. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. Markota has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Croatian.

   #4. Lars Oskar Granath (183-PG-95, currently plays in Norway) managed to help Gimle BBK Bergen to win against the seventh-ranked Nidaros Jets (12-15) crushing them 115-75 in the Norwegian BLNO on Sunday night. Granath recorded only 4 points and added 8 passes. Gimle BBK Bergen (17-10) is placed third in the BLNO. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Granath has averaged so far 3.1ppg, 1.4rpg and 3.6apg.

   #5. Aron Furstenberg (192-G-88, currently plays in Norway) was not able to help Persbraten in their game against Asker Aliens (13-14) in the Norwegian BLNO. Furstenberg scored 9 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 32 minutes. But the bottom-ranked Persbraten was crushed 89-67 in Asker by the higher-ranked (#6) Aliens. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Furstenberg has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.6apg in 25 games.

   #6. Albert Christensson (206-F/C, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the Cent.Arkansas in their game against the Stephen F. Austin State University in the NCAA. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Christensson scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team were defeated 90-85. Christensson has averaged so far 1.3ppg and 1.4rpg.

   #7. Calle Duvdal (181-G-88, currently plays in Norway) is a teammate of previously mentioned Aron Furstenberg and both played together in the last Norwegian BLNO game. Duvdal couldn't help Persbraten in their game against Asker Aliens. He scored 7 points in 21 minutes. His team was crushed by 22 points 89-67. Duvdal has averaged so far 5.0ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.8apg in 22 games.

   #8. Experienced Zoltan Kurinczky (181-G-82, currently plays in Norway) is a teammate of previously mentioned Aron Furstenberg. He played also in the last Norwegian BLNO game facing Calle Duvdal (above) in the other team. Kurinczky couldn't help Persbraten in their game against Asker Aliens. He scored 5 points. His team was crushed by 22 points 89-67. Kurinczky averaged so far 14.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg. He has both Hungarian and Swedish nationalities.

   #9. Andre Michelsson (188-F-97, currently plays in Iceland) couldn't help Snaefell in their game against Haukar in the Icelandic Dominos League. Michelsson cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 14 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 19 points 102-83. Michelsson's stats this year are: 12.2ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.8apg in 19 games.
