Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Swedish players who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international small forward Jeffery Taylor (201-89, college: Vanderbilt, currently plays in Euroleague). Taylor could not help Real Madrid (19-7) to beat Panathinaikos (15-11). He scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The league leader Real Madrid was defeated 88-82 on the road by the lower-ranked Panathinaikos (#6). There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Taylor averages: 4.8ppg, 2.0rpg, 2FGP: 55.9%(19-34), 3FGP: 38.9% and FT: 76.2%. He is a naturalized American. Taylor played for the Swedish senior national team four years ago. Strangely he has never played in Sweden.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Ludvig Hakanson (190-96, currently plays in Spain). Hakanson was not able to help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (10-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance Baloncesto Fuenlabrada lost 86-101 in Valencia to the lower-ranked (#13) Basket. Hakanson was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added made 4 passes and 3 steals in 25 minutes. It's Hakanson's first season with the team. This year Hakanson's overall stats are: 6.1ppg, 1.5rpg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 39.7%, 3FGP: 25.7% and FT: 91.3%(21-23) in 23 games he played so far. He is in the roster of the Swedish senior national team.

   #3. The Swedish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international shooting guard Marcus Eriksson (201-93, currently plays in Spain). Eriksson was not able to secure a victory for FC Barcelona (15-7) in their game against Real Madrid (16-7) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored 9 points. But FC Barcelona was edged 76-75 in Madrid by the higher-ranked Real (#4). Eriksson's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 1.4rpg, 2FGP: 57.7%(15-26), 3FGP: 48.3%(29-60) and FT: 92.3%. He played for the Swedish national team four years ago.

   #4. Guard Dino Pita (195-88, currently plays in Poland) couldn't help Krosno (13-12) in their game against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (17-8) in the Polish PLK. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night Pita recorded 13 points. Pita's total stats this season are: 8.4ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.4apg. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Swedish. Pita is also Swedish national team player.

   #5. International guard Chris Czerapowicz (201-91, college: Davidson, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Andorra (12-11) in their game against UCAM Murcia (8-15) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored 9 points in 24 minutes. But Andorra was crushed 77-53 in Murcia by the lower-ranked (#12) UCAM. This year Czerapowicz averages only 4.0ppg in four games. He is a naturalized American. Czerapowicz plays currently for the Swedish national team. Apparently he has never played in Sweden.

   #6. Power forward Jonas Jerebko (208-87, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Boston Celtics in a victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (28-40) 117-104 in the NBA on Wednesday night. He scored only 4 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes. The Boston Celtics have a solid 44-25 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Jerebko's total stats are: 4.0ppg and 3.5rpg in 67 games. He is a naturalized American. Jerebko is a former international player as he played for the Swedish senior team four years ago. He used to play for Boras/Marbo Basket in Swedish league.

An experienced former international power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, currently plays in Israel) couldn't help Ironi Nahariya (10-12) in their game against Galil Gilboa (10-12) in the Israeli Winner League. Skjoldebrand cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Ironi Nahariya was edged 73-72 at home by the lower-ranked Galil Gilboa (#10). Skjoldebrand has relatively good stats this season: 11.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.7spg. He used to play for the Swedish national team four years ago.

   #8. Shooting guard Martin Pahlmblad (193-86, currently plays in Greece) contributed to Kymis' surprising victory against the sixth-ranked Kolossos HH (12-10) 74-64 in the Greek A1 last Saturday. Pahlmblad scored 6 points and added 5 assists in 31 minutes. GS Kymis (7-15) is placed 12th in the A1. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Pahlmblad has averaged so far 4.4ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.2apg in 22 games. He plays currently for the Swedish national team.

International shooting guard Johan Lofberg (199-95, currently plays in Spain) led Oviedo CB to a victory against the 13th-ranked Castello (12-16) 97-87 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Saturday night. Lofberg scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo (18-10) is placed fifth in the LEB Gold. This season Lofberg has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.1apg. He is also in the roster of the Swedish national team.

Small forward Erik Rush (196-88, college: Montana St., currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Recanati (6-18) in their game against Unieuro Forli (6-18) in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Rush scored 9 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 22 minutes. But the 16th-placed Recanati (6-18) lost 74-89 on their home court in Recanati to the higher-ranked (#15) Unieuro Forli in the East group. It was Recanati's third consecutive loss in a row. Rush has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 10.7rpg and 5.3apg in six games. Rush is a naturalized American. He is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Swedish senior national team. Interesting that Rush has never played in Sweden.

   #11. Former U20 international guard Alexander Gorski (196-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Wyoming's victory against the Eastern Washington University 91-81 in the NCAA National Tournament Round 1 last Wednesday. He recorded 6 points. Gorski has averaged so far 7.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.7apg. He used to play for the Swedish U20 national team three years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international forward Will Magarity (211-93, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Davidson in their game against the Rhode Island University in the NCAA. Magarity scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. His team was crushed by 24 points 84-60. Magarity has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.4bpg in 29 games. He used to play for the Swedish U20 national team back in 2013.

   #13. U18 international small forward Vilgot Larsson (198-98, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Arenys' victory against the eighth-ranked Cornella 80-70 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Larsson scored 8 points. Larsson has averaged so far 5.6ppg and 2.2rpg. He is also Swedish U18 national team player.

   #14. U18 international power forward Felix Edwardsson (204-99, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Baunach in their game against Nuernberg in the German ProA (second division). Edwardsson cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 21 minutes. His team was edged 77-75. Edwardsson has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 1.1rpg in 25 games. He plays currently for the Swedish U18 national team.

   #15. U16 international guard Jan Pantzar (190-0, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked CBA Gran Canaria B 70-51 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday night. Pantzar scored only 2 points and added 3 assists. Pantzar has averaged so far 5.0ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.1apg. He is also in the roster of the Swedish U16 national team.


The list of other players, who all have Swedish passport but never been selected to any of Swedish national teams:

   #1. Maciej Lampe (211-C/F-85, currently plays in China) could not help Leopards (26-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Leopards lost 88-98 on the road to the second-ranked Guandong Tigers. Lampe had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds in 37 minutes. It's Lampe's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Lampe averages: 23.4ppg, 12.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.4spg in 47 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Swedish.

   #2. Damir Markota (209-F/C-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency, currently plays in Turkey) was the major contributor in an Istanbul BBSK's victory against the closely-ranked Trabzonspor (7-15) 96-78 in the Turkish BSL last Sunday. Markota scored 14 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in a mere 16 minutes. Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi (9-13) is placed 11th in the BSL. This year Markota's total stats are: 8.4ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.6apg in 20 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Swedish and Croatian.

   #3. Omar Krayem (186-PG-88, college: Cal.Baptist, currently plays in Slovakia) led Prievidza to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Lucenec (17-20) crushing them 100-70 in the Slovakian SBL last Wednesday. Krayem recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. BC Prievidza (26-11) is placed third in the SBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Krayem has relatively good stats this season: 11.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 4.5apg and 1.3spg. He is a naturalized American. Krayem used to play for KSF Srbija Malmo in Swedish league.

The most important game in the last round took place in Norrkoping between second ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (23-9) and sixth ranked KFUM Jamtland (16-16) on Tuesday night. 18-year old point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (182-PG-98) had a very impressive game in the last round for BG Lulea and receives a Eurobasket.com Basketettan Player of the Week award for round 10 (Second Stage). He had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for BG Lulea in his team's victory, helping them to beat KFUM Uppsala (#7, 4-9) 91-82.
