There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Basketettan. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of AIK II (0-1) in Solna on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Taby Basket (2-0) 108-95. Taby Basket forced 37 AIK II turnovers and outrebounded them 108-87 including a 42-31 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 58 assists comparing to just 44 passes made by AIK II's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Taby Basket made 108 blocks. 54 personal fouls committed by AIK II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Center Marcus Friman (203-95) chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian Milan Milosevic (-99) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Another exciting game was between KFUM Central and Nacka Basket where KFUM Central (2-0) beat Nacka Basket (1-1) on the road 85-80. Guard Binyam Yigzaw (186-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 assists. Nils Hedstrom contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Mustafa Dibba (186-95) replied with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for Nacka Basket. KFUM Central will play against BG Lulea (#4) at home in the next round. Nacka Basket will play against Jamtland II in Ostersund to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game in Huskvarna supposed to be also quite interesting. RIG Mark (1-0) played at the court of Brahe Basket (0-2). RIG Mark smashed Brahe Basket 89-37 on Sunday. Andre Lorentsson scored 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. RIG Mark's coach Michael Bree felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Edin Hanusa responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. RIG Mark will meet at home Bankeryd in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brahe Basket will play against Huddinge (#3) and hope to win that game.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Stockholm, where Akropol (0-1) was outleveled at home by KFUM Blackeberg (1-1) 96-66. Daniel Persson notched 27 points and 5 assists to lead the effort. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KFUM Blackeberg's next round opponent will be KFUM Uppsala (#12) at home and are hoping to win another game. Akropol will play against KFUM Lidingo (#11) and hope to win that game.
An interesting game took place in Norrkoping, where Eskilstuna (0-1) lost to Haga BG (1-1) in a road game 63-70 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Lucas Lindh who had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Haga BG will have a break next round. Eskilstuna will play at home against Hammarby (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 2 KFUM Fryshuset crushed KFUM Lidingo in Stockholm 113-86. Sundsvall beat Jamtland II at home 76-68.

Brahe Basket - RIG Mark 37-89

The game in Huskvarna supposed to be also quite interesting. RIG Mark (1-0) played at the court of Brahe Basket (0-2). RIG Mark smashed Brahe Basket 89-37 on Sunday. RIG Mark dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Brahe Basket's 26. RIG Mark forced 40 Brahe Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when RIG Mark made 101 blocks. Andre Lorentsson (202-1) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lojong Andarea Ladu (197-99) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. RIG Mark's coach Michael Bree felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Edin Hanusa (198-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Alexander Johansson (-94) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. RIG Mark will meet at home Bankeryd in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brahe Basket will play against Huddinge (#3) and hope to win that game.

Another exciting game was between KFUM Central and Nacka Basket where KFUM Central (2-0) beat Nacka Basket (1-1) on the road 85-80. KFUM Central forced 27 Nacka Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 112-82 including a 43-29 advantage in offensive rebounds. KFUM Central players were unselfish on offense dishing 37 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 95 blocks. Nacka Basket was plagued by 40 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Binyam Yigzaw (186-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 assists. Guard Nils Hedstrom (190-83) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Mustafa Dibba (186-95) replied with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American forward Omar Zaghdane (204-90, college: Minot St.) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Nacka Basket. Center Leonard Halling-Ibo (200-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. KFUM Fryshuset's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
