Helios Basket defend LNA title - May 11, 2013

Helios Basket celebrated the second consecutive LNA title. They swept the championship series versus Fribourg. Helios Basket clinched a comfortable 19-point victory in the third game of the series to claim the trophy. Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) stepped up with 29 points to pace the defending champions.
Fribourg had their backs against the wall entering the game. And they reacted accordingly opening the game in an aggressive manner. Fribourg raced to a 26:20 lead after the starting quarter. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. The hosts accounted for a 45:38 halftime lead. But Helios Basket were not intimidated. The visitors reacted with a 25:12 rally in the third term. They pulled ahead to secure a 63:57 lead at the final intermission. Helios Basket finished the game in style outscoring the hosts 23:10 and clinching a well-deserved win. Alexia Rol (175-F-89) delivered 23 points, while Karen Twehues (182-G-83, college: Cincinnati) added 12 points for the winners. Celeste Trahan-Davis (184-C-85, agency: LBM Management, college: Elizabeth City) answered with 27 points for Fribourg. Emilie Butty (180-F-91) netted 11 points in defeat.

Helios Basket clinch third consecutive League Cup title - Feb 24, 2013

Helios Basket celebrated the third straight League cup title tonight. They outgunned Riva Basket for another trophy. Diodio Diouf (170-G-84) stepped up with 19 points to pace the winners.
Helios quickly gained a comfortable lead. They ensured a 24:17 advantage at the first break. Helios limited Riva Basket at 13 points in the second quarter to post a 42:30 halftime advantage. The gap kept on growing throughout the third term. Helios secured a comfortable 19-point advantage at the final intermission 67:46. Riva Basket scored just 13 points in the final frame and Helios cruised to the victory at the end. Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) finished with 18 points, while Alexia Rol (175-F-89) added 10 points for the winners. Cameo Hicks (182-G/F-84, college: Washington) answered with 31 points for Riva Basket. Lidia Travaini (176-F-85) had 8 points in defeat.

Helios Basket defend Swiss Cup title - Apr 14, 2013

Helios Basket regained the Swiss Cup title. They knocked down Ovronnaz-Martigny in the Final on Saturday. Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) fired 19 points to lead the winners.
Helios Basket led by just two points after the starting period 18:16. They went on a killer rally in the second frame. Helios ignited a massive 23:4 run to secure a comfortable 41:20 halftime lead. Helios stayed in full control throughout the third term. They accounted for a 60:35 advantage at the final intermission. Helios Basket held their opponents to 13 points in the fourth stanza and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Karen Twehues (182-G-83, college: Cincinnati) delivered 15 points, while Alexia Rol (175-F-89) netted 14 points in the victory. Lia Volpe (163-PG-86) and Katia Clement (183-C-85) answered with 13 points each for Ovronnaz-Martigny.
