27-year old forward Marisa Heckendorn (170-F-84) put on an amazing game in the last round for Basel and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16.
She had a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds, while her team beat Highflyers (#8, 3-11) 85-77. Basel is placed at 4th position in Swiss LNA. Basel is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-6 record. In the team's last game Heckendorn had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Basel, through which he has constantly improved. Heckendorn has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in assists (5th best: 2.9apg) and averages solid 3.4spg.

Second best performed player last round was Jamila Griffith (183-G/F-82) of Ovronnaz-Mart.. She is Barbados swingman in her first season at Ovronnaz-Mart.. In the last game Griffith recorded impressive 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Ovronnaz-Mart. to edge slightly higher-ranked Nyon (#7, 4-11) by 5 points 52-47. Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Ovronnaz-Mart. managed to get this year. Griffith is a newcomer at Ovronnaz-Mart. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#6). She also registered 7.7 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Whitney Boddie (173-G-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) of league's leader Helios. Boddie scored 24 points and passed five assists. She was a key player of Helios, leading her team to a 91-63 easy win against #3 ranked Fribourg in a game of the week. Helios have amazing season winning all 14 games without a single defeat. Boddie turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Boddie has a great season in Switzerland. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.8ppg (9th best) and assists with 6.1apg (2nd best). She also has 4.4spg and FGP: 58.2%.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
