Lugano Tigers - Monthey 76:74

Lugano Tigers celebrated Swiss Cup title. They narrowly defeated Monthey in the Final. Mohammed Abukar (208-F-85, agency: Two Points, college: San Diego St.) stepped up with 22 points to pace the winners. Lugano thus defended their Swiss Cup title.
Monthey opened the game at the St. Leonard Arena on a high note. They established a 23:16 lead after ten minutes. Monthey stayed in charge throughout the second quarter. They piled up a 44:33 halftime advantage. But the defending champions put up the pressure on their opponents in the third term. The Tigers limited Monthey to just 14 points in the third term erasing the deficit. The teams entered the fourth frame tied at 58. Lugano used all of their experience in the final seconds to secure a narrow victory at the end. Rod Brown (186-PG-78, agency: Two Points, college: W.Michigan) produced 14 points, while Edwin Draughan (196-G/F-82, college: Yale) added 12 points in the victory. Sean Finn (212-C-82, college: Dayton) topscored for Monthey with 27 points. Terry Smith (185-PG-86, college: Mercyhurst) nailed 12 points in the loss.

De Gottrau comes back to Villars - 3 days ago

Villars Basket (LNB) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old power forward Ludovic De Gottrau (194-91). It is actually his comeback to Villars as he has played here before. De Gottrau played recently at Fribourg Olympic (LNA). LNB will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. He helped them to win the Supercup. American Chris Jones (188-G-93) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Starwings and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The 23-year old guard had the game-high 24 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Starwings in his team's victory, helping them to beat Lugano Tigers (#10, 3-5) 64-56. Lugano Tigers U23 signs Kendyl Grover - 5 days ago

Lugano Tigers U23 (LNB) signed American forward Kendyl Grover (203). He just graduated from Adams St. College (NCAA2). He played 22 games where he had 11.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.0apg last season. As mentioned above Grover is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. He played at the RMAC Tournament Semifinals in 2015.
